What's a good replacement for the harmon kardon stereo in my 2011 Tri Glide ?

Hey people,

I have the in and out sound problems that everyone seems to have with the Harmon Kardon unit

I'm thinking about just getting a new system that's a bit more modern than sending it out to get it repaired.

So any suggestions on a replacement?

charles first do you use the cb? if so you need to go the repair route. if not there are a couple of companies that modify the sony to to fit and have handle bar switch control converters.

I have had the same issues with my '09 Street Glide and '11 Tri Glide. I had Iron Cross repair the one in the SG but it didn't last. I've been buying used HK head units but eventually they all did the same thing. I put the Rockford Fosgate PMX-HD9813 Media Receiver in Triglide last year and so far so good.

Good luck

Thanx for the input, one other question does the intercom work separately from the stereo or will I have to find something that would have that feature?

Unfortunately NO intercom with this unit. We use aftermarket blue-tooth headsets.

I am running the Sony MEX-M100BT in my 2012 TG along with an in fairing amp and upgraded speakers. Nice stereo with bluetooth, etc. that I can actually hear at interstate speed.

An aftermarket kit will allow retention of handlebar controls but you will loose CB and intercom. Since I didn't use these it was no problem for me.

I got everything from Crutchfield.

YMMV,

Hoggly
