What was the first bike you ever rode?

1969 Triumph Trident

Never rode a mc, good friend dared me to ride it thee different times, he said just take it to the end of the steet and back. I kept killing it with my clutch work, decided I'm going to ride this thing if it kills me! It didn't, and came back to a frantic owner an hour and a half later, and as they say, the rest is history!

1980? CB125s when I was 14 mainly rode trails on it.82? SR185 exciter came next at 15 mainly rode on road with a license. Then a 81 GS300s sold it when I was 18,took about 20yrs off then bought a 1100 vstar in 09 and been riding sense.

When I was in the 9th grade, me and a friend spent the summer building a bike from a 20 inch bicycle frame that we put a briggs & stratten motor in. It went like a bat out of hell. We never considered that with the additional weight and what not the rear coaster brakes from the bike were pretty inadequate for stopping it though. The first real bike I ever rode was a 305 Honda scrambler that belonged to my (now) brother-in-law. He "loaned" me his bike to get me out of his and my sisters hair. He did it on a regular basis for a while until he sold it. My parents never had a clue. If they had, I would have been in some really serious trouble since I wasn't old enough to drive and had no license. I was fascinated with bikes long before he loaned me his though. My first inkling that I wanted a bike happened when I was about 10 and saw 2 guys ride by on a couple BSA's. The red and chrome tanks really caught my eye and I thought those were the coolest bikes I'd ever seen. I said to myself that it looked like something I would really like to do some day. Turned out it was. I got my first when I was in high school. I saved up my money and bought myself a 63 Harley DUO Glide. It was a piece of crap that the previous owner beat up and never did a bit of work on. Left it outside year round in Ohio with a tarp over it. I don't think he ever even changed the oil. It broke down on a real regular basis but I loved it.

Mine was 175cc Bridgestone Hurricane Scrambler. Bought it new, and rode many dirt trails and hill climbs. Great memories riding with friends back in the 60's :)

That was my first bike too. Fast little bike. Routinely blew off Honda 305s. Mine wasn't much for climbing, always quit half way up, landing on me. A friend had a Bridgestone 50. After preaching to me about letting it fall on me, he showed me how to take it up the side of a hill. Of course it stalled and not wanting it to fall on him, he jumped off, clean off the hill, landing in the road below. He wasn't hurt but it ended any thoughts of an instructing career.
