What kinda MPG are you guys getting?

My Vtx 1800 rocks between 27--31 ----Price of cheap gas is right around one of nex:wave4: next curves so i will keep riding till i get there :wave4:

Just finished installing a Champion Trike kit on my 1800 Wing. The first tank I got 35 MPG. I was getting 38/40 on 2 wheels. Same roads and speeds. I read that the trike would get about 10% less milage. So far that was right on. Be safe and enjoy the ride. Larry

2009 Gold Wing with MT IRS kit, since I got it, my over all average has been 31.5. We have made 2 trips to Ruidoso NM, (in the mountains), up there I get 36 to 38, because of the speed, I guess. Best I have got up there is 38.5 but most of the time around here its around 32 because I do a lot of slow town riding. Last week I did a 75 mile stretch from Roswell to Tatum NM across the desert, top speed about 95 maybe just a little more and lots of slow down and speed up to pass cars and bikes, I got 30 MPG through that stretch, riding 2 up. We ride 2 up 99.9 % of the time. I keep very good records, always have on all my vehicles, these numbers are very accurate.

Riding 2 up. The wife and I just got bck from a 1300 mile 4 day ride. I get about 35 MPG when not on the highway. On the highway going between 70 and 80 my millage drops down to about 32 to 33 MPG. Be safe and enjoy the ride. Larry

meredog,
I also bought the Blue Lightning plugs at Wing Ding, after the "snake oil"type pitch by the maker of these plugs,my friend and I decided to try them.Besides had some money left over and just couldn't take any left-over money home wth me.hehe
I believe the plugs have maybe increased mpg by 3-5 mpg.I have been checking mpg since I installed them and have not dropped below 31 mpg. It's a little better if I behave myself and don't push it because I'm having to much fun on this thing and it's mpg vs.having fun and I guess I'm at 25/75 % on that.I was getting about 28mph before.
By the way I was at your booth 2-3 times to meet you and didn't mind at all talking to that pretty young lady that was manning the booth while you were gone buying chrome.
My standard poodle would not fit in the dog hauler,so I couldn't spend my extra money with you.

we now make a larger size. For the "large" size dogs we recommend putting their front feet in the pet cruiser and their back feet on a skate board !! LOL

I traded my 2006 GL1800 which got about 38 MPH under almost any condition (2-up at legal speeds). Bought a 97 GL1500 Aspencade with Roadsmith conversion. Am getting 30-32 mpg riding 2-up at legal speeds. I found that the gas tank on the 1500 wasn't quite as big as on the 1800 so I have since added the Roadsmith auxiliary 5 gallon gas tank kit and go about 250 miles between fill ups. The only downside to the kit is that the auto shut-off on any gas pump doesn't work on the aux gas filler for some reason so you have to be careful or you will wash the side of the trike with gas. The gas gauge isn't particularly accurate for either the aux tank or main tank so I watch the odometer.

I was a little disappointed at the mileage when I first got my trike but just noticed in Motorcycle Consumer News that a period test of a 97 GL1500 SE had average gas mileage at 32.6 mpg... I am getting pretty close to that after the trike conversion so I guess I should be happy!

Coupla' miles either side of 34 now on the 2010 Gold Wing/Motor Trike/IRS....just a "tick" under the 2-wheeler versions I've owned...ThumbUp

At 60 or under on back roads I can get 36 to 38 ,drop the hammer on the interstate and I am lucky if I get 28. This is a 1800 2010 wing with 2012Champion kit solid axel.

MPG

I'm getting 16 mpg on my Collins Corvair trike and only 25 on my 2001 GL1800 trike. I think the Goldwing should do better than that with 41K on the odo and new tires.?? Any Goldwing guys have input?

I think i'm getting between 32 and 36 MPG's on my 2019 Tri-Glide I say Think because i never can fill the tank exactly the same at every fill up''...So with a 6 gallon tank a few more or a few less ounces will only give you a ballpark figure..

Interesting old posting. Lots of unfamiliar (to me) people participated. My 2008 Goldwing/CSC trike consistently gets 33-34 MPG. Prior to upgrading the drive line and removing the clunky gear box (that is now obsolete on CSC) I was only able to achieve a maximum of 30 MPG..... Jim

My 2012 Triglide gets about 38 MPG on the highway with the cruise set. Put our 3 X 4 trailer behind it and the milage drops to 33-34 MPG.
