What is it & what does it do?

​Just to the rear of the reverse circuit breaker is a solonoid looking thing. What is it?

Jack when you press the R button does this thing make an audible click? Mine you can barley hear it. Yep still trouble shooting the reverse problem.

I have not heard mine click as of yet Check the battery cable connections @ the solenoid and the grounds also

OnBoth my 11 and 17 Triglide hit the reverse button there was an audible click that was the solenoid engaging the starter
