What did you do to Your Tri-Glide Today?

Order

Put the Chrome & Rubber Small Brake Pad on my parking brake lever.

Geez it only took Harley about three months to get the thing to the dealer. The backorder status just kept getting further and further stretched out. Glad it wasn't something 'important' but it does look better now that it matches my grips and brake pedal.

My indy orderd a new fuel gauge for the Wife’s trike...... going on 4 months now, claims its

HD shipping issue + THE CHINEESE CRUD.......ohhhhh for the OLD DAYS!

We got in a 170 mile ride Sat, 77* Had to watch Chase win the Nascar Championship on Sun. Finally got to the Trike on Mon. Cleaned & polished in prep for a long winters nite rest. Going down to 32 tonite after a long night of rain Tues.

American elite mt90b16 front tire

I installed a new Dunlop American Elite MT90B16 front tire on my 2016 TGU about a month ago. I, like others, was not impressed with the Avon front tire I put on the TGU about 2 years ago. It caused a noticeable shake and vibration when I got over 70 and kept getting worse the faster I went. That started about 1000 miles or so after I installed it. I finally got tired of it and ordered the Dunlop after reading several good reviews.

The new Dunlop is much more pleasant. It handles good and is a much "smoother" ride. I told the tire installer to not balance the new tire. I have chrome rims and have used dyna beads for years. I installed 2 OZ of Dyna Beads through the valve stem (took about 2 minutes) and it is smooth and quiet all the way up to 95MPH. BTW, 95 is all the top end I can get on my TGU, and most of that comes from 5th gear.

However, I don't really care about top end. The trike, with Power Vision and Target Tune tuning runs great. I very seldom get over 70 unless passing on the interstate. 90% of my riding is county roads and non interstate highways. I am very pleased with the new Dunlop and I am running 38 for tire pressure.

BTW, the shake from the Avon was not a violent shake. but it was very noticeable and caused some concern.

What HD dealer did you go to? I was born & raised in Elyria & whenever I ride back home I always go to Lake Erie HD for oil & filter change. They're the old Elyria HD that used to be on Cleveland st.

Hey Bob...not sure if you knew but, Lake Erie HD is NO LONGER. they closed up early this yr.. After George died and the son took over the dealership went to hell...

To get a rough idea sit on the trike close your eyes stretch out your hands Without leaning forward like you were holding the bars and if it feels comfortable that will give you a starting point/idea....

Hey' Paul....This post was an answer to your question Post #2751....Some how i mixed them up.....

No I didn't know that. That's a shame. Where are you going that's close to Elyria now to get your HD service work done?

I'm hoping to have my covid-19 vaccination done and headed back to Elyria to see my old Pals this coming August and I'll need to get a service when I get there

Installed 14" Pro-action Shocks and Comfort Lift Kit today.

Now I want to meet the gorilla that put on the stock shocks. Whoever torque these shock bolts needs a reminder to read the torque setting. Needless to say, I could not put the shocks on with the body in place. Couldn't get enough leverage on the bolts. Removed the body and was able to use a breaker bar to break the bolts lose. everything went somewhat smooth from there. One thing I had to do was to drop the exhaust to get the Comfort Lift Kit holes to line up. The removal and re-install of the body went smooth as silk. WHAT A DIFFERENCE IN THE RIDE compared to stock shocks and the pro-action. Bumps are definitely, no longer bone jarring!!!!

The Gorilla's name was probably was Loctite.....They use a Dry Loctite [Almost like wax] So that when the bolt is tighten it makes a chemical reaction to insure that they stay tight..

Hey Robert.... I'm Paul, a "Newbie" to the Trike community. Did you have your kw 2+2's installed at the dealer or did you do the work?? How did you measure what size bars you needed?? Thanks..

Hey Paul,

Here's a video of what rhino is talking about. Getting the right bars for you can make a big difference.

You more than right! But, there was no way I was going to break those bolts with the body on. It went real fast after the body was removed.

It is a great ride. When it gets to service time on the front forks consider doing them as well our old trike no longer nose dives when you stop. And the handling improved a 100% congratulations on the upgrade.

Thanks.. I know my back appreciates the upgrade!

Seat recovering

I sent my 2016 TG saddle to Mean City Cycles for restoration. The stitching was pulling through the original cover. Not an extended warranty item. Good boys to work with.
