June has not been kind to me. Course I didn't die, so I guess that counts for something. Managed a 40 mile ride (my first in June) to Vilaris, my favorite inexpensive lunch spot. Next day had cataract surgery so I'm down again. At least I can polish the fenders![]()

Hey JT ... Had cataract surgery last year and it was like the friggin Wizard Of Oz. Healing was uneventful, as I'm sure yours will be as well and then welcome to a brand new world. I picked distance lens implants so I do have to use readers. Rest up and feel well soon!
Hope you heal fast, this will be a game changer for you
My salesman @ local HD shop called me today wishing me a happy birthday and to stop by for a 25.00 gift card
Sounds good to me, Happy Birthday to me and my 21 FLRT![]()
Heading to VA Saturday and I'm at 19,500 miles on my '21 so looked like a good time to do an oil change by myself instead of the dealership and here's what I found when I pulled the drain plug.

That's plumbers pipe sealant on the threads with a broken "O" ring. Guess Atlantic County HD couldn't afford a replacement gasket. :gah:

That’s is what Harley uses…. when I changed it all on mine I always get a new plug and they use that O-ring and what you think is pipe sealer is actually a type of Loctite..
The part number for the drain plug is..60328-98B… Plug assembly magnetic drain..
Just to clarify if you get a new plug from Harley you’ll see that they use an O ring and with the Loctite already on the treads..Gone are the copper washers that are reused…I don’t like reusing rubber I rings so every time I change my oil I buy a new drain plug and it comes as a kit…. I think bad mouthing your dealer was a little premature…
This wasn't Loctite of any sort. The threads cleaned up easily, unlike they would with Loctite. It was Teflon sealant like you might use on natural gas pipes. I'm very familiar with both. That O ring was split when I removed the plug. It was surely split when it was reinstalled at the last oil change or maybe split when the plug was over-tightened. There's no mention of using Loctite in the manual, only replacing the O ring, which I did. If you knew my past experience with these guys you'd understand my irritation with finding something as unprofessional as this in a simple oil change. These are the guys who only changed two out of four spark plugs at each service interval because they didn't know how to get the gas tank off.

Coolest Cooler Ever ... We don't go anywhere without a few bottles of water. Easy to throw them into a lunch box style cooler for the car but not quite so easy to fit them safely into the bike. Hate to spend $3.00+ for a bottle of water when we are out. Found this super Cool Cooler on Amazon and the measurements looked like it would sit nicely in the bike trunk. Arrived this morning and what a "Cool" piece it is.

Fits 10 regular size beer cans ... I paid $30.00 for it. The price changed frequently. When it dropped, I grabbed it. The quality seems really nice.

Looks awfully small for 10 beer cans. MAYBE a six pack. Would you have a link for this?
