What Did You Do To Your Freewheeler Today?

Put them on all my bikes, like the look and how they fit my hands. I don't know how to do pictures.

What you do is go to the last sticky on the 1st. page of the Freewheeler forum & read how to post pictures. You can do it.

My oldest son is coming by tomorrow morning with his very custom 2016.Road Glide Special & I am going to do a basic service on it, (Royal Purple in all 3 holes & brake fluid flush). I will be riding after that.:D:cool:

One of my favorite rides locally, is up along the Mississippi River from Alton, Il. up to Grafton may not be doable, I hear the great river road up that way is starting to flood. I feel we are going to have a lot of problems this summer, as the good people up north are already suffering with the water rising.

Be careful on your ride Michael

Looks like the Midwest is having a lot of issues with flooding;)

The news this morning said they expect Hwy 100 to close today at Grafton. Better check with Grafton PD or ???

Cold and windy today... turned heater on in the shop and installed (well husband actually did the installations) the reckless rock hoodz stereo, flush mount gauges on the gas tank, grasshopper limited back rest, ciro cup holder (waiting for the ciro smartphone mount to come in), 3 inch heel/toe shifter pegs, extended brake pad (decided to get the extended brake pedal but waiting for it to arrive), and a few chrome accent pieces. All in all it was a good day, but where is spring?!

Could you post some pics please. Also, I would like some info on your 3" shifter pegs, like p/n's & where you got them from. Thanks

I will try to get some pics. I purchased the pegs from amazon. They were ISO style chrome & rubber extended shifter pegs for Harley Davidson. They are made by Mid USA.

LA Choppers sells a couple of different 3-3.5" Pegs (The picture below is their Extended Delrin Shifter Peg P/NLA-7200-00B) as well as a shifter peg extension (LA Choppers P/N LA -7201-00). Pingle also has a shifter extension that puts the shifter length at 3" (Picture below) Pingle P/N 62167. I had the Pingle one but kept hanging my toe up on it. I am not a heel toe guy, so I am sure it would be different for somebody who is.

It looks like weather in my area will be an issue for a few days with rain/ storms as some of my favorite riding routes flood. Everyone be safe.

Stereo Upgrade

I had a handlebar mounted stereo system on my FW for a few month - Just didn't perform very well - So , I bought a 180 watt unit ( 4x45w ) that came with ( 2 ) speakers - I used the other ( 2 ) outputs to run 3.5mm headphone jacks for our helmet speakers - Unit really performs well - It was easy to mount on the on top of the fork cover down under my windshield bag - Speakers look good an sound good - FM Radio picks up stations nice - Even came with a lighted remote ...20190326_182014.jpg

When it warms a little more, I am going to drain my clutch & differential (currently using Lucas 20W/50 high performance full synthetic motorcycle oil) and give HD Formula + a try. I have 2 quarts of it I can't return & want to see how it works over the summer. I will say I am very happy with the Lucas. I am also going to try Castrol Actevo 20W/50 in the engine over the summer.

In the fall, after my 2,200 mile round trip to the 4-Corners Motorcycle Rally (Labor Day Weekend) in Durango, CO, I will drain all 3 holes & give Redline a try.

Tomorrow is the day for my oil test. After a fun warm up ride, I will drain all 3 holes & put HD Formula + in the primary & tranny & I have Castrol Actevo 20W50 oil for the engine. After about 4 to 5,000 miles, I will be back to Lucas & Red Line after this experiment. :)

I am really looking forward to trying the Redline Shockproof in the tranny. It has a great reputation.
