VW homemade trike

I have a 1970's VW homemade trike my dad built.

Engine: 1963 VW Beetle 1200cc bored out to 1500cc
Front End: Harley forks and Norton Front Wheel

Aftermarket Parts:
Mallory Dual Point Distributor
Holley 2 barrel BugSpray carburetor
Racing Pipes
Mickey Thompson "SuperWide" tires


This thing was in the back corner of our barn all covered up and this past summer (2013) I decided to get it running again. So I got it out and just cleaned it up some, I replaced the battery,spark plugs, battery cables, and cleaned the points. Then I tried to start it. It *kinda* started. It would start, and idle for a few minutes or so, and if I tried to give it gas it would instantly die. So I cleaned my carb and my jets. So now the engine starts and runs fine. So that's a little bit into my journey of restoring my trike!

Your Dad's old trike looks like it would be fun to ride, but I think the first change I would make is fork stops, that one photo is a bit scary. :pepper:
 
Man, talk about potential! That ride has a TON of it! ThumbUp

And I really dig those tail lights! PM me if you decide to change 'em out! :D

P.S. Ditto on the fork stops...
