I am thinking of picking up a 97 Valk Standard with a Lehman conversion. Was wondering if anyone has had likes or dislikes for this bike. I would assume that it would be as reliable as a 1500 Wing, but as with anything when you start making changes from original, weird things can happen. I'm just looking for feedback from experience........Thanks, Bill

The Valkyrie is an awesome bike. I like the handling and performance better than the 1500 'Wing, and maintenance is easier since you don't have to remove all the plastic to get to things.

My Valk trike only has less than 20k miles, bought from a fella that just didn't ride. I have a '97 Valkyrie bike with 80k+ miles. Runs as well as the day I got it. I have a riding partner, his Valk Interstate has 160K miles on it, at Inzane (the annual Valk rally) last year, there were several with over 200k miles, the grand total winner had 400K miles. Honda's flat 6's are near bullet proof, reliable.

Just control your right wrist (throttle) and all will be well. All problems I have had, u-joints and/or drive lines, were because of my operating.

:Coffee:....I don't or never have owned one but I think that chromed 6 cylinder hanging off the side is one of the best looking engines out there . As far as dependable ,,look around ,,, guess the Goldwing hurt 'em in sales but I wouldn't be afraid of that bike ..I M O ,,,,ThumbUp ThumbUp....I'm sure that's the reason to end production .

Buy It---You will love it !!!~!!!!!!

I have a 99 I/S with california Sidecar Conversion that will make all the other riders come to complete turn around and stop what they are doing to come over and see the BIKE OF THE DECADE !!! The Valkyrie is one unique cycle and the guy with over 400,00 miles was at Corbin, Ky. over Memorial Day Ride and it is still one beautiful machine. I love my Valkyrie and she has made others envious that they do not have one.

If your still looking or in the market for a Valk based trike you wont be disappointed.
The Valk is for all intents and purposes a Hot Rod GW.
The main difference in the 1500 engine with the Valk is its got 6 carbs and the gear ratios are a bit different then with the GWs dual carb manifold.
Some Valks even have an extra fuel belly tank.
No Tupperware to cover up everything unless its an InterState model.
The "F" and Tourer are great bikes too.
The 1500 engine is every bit as bullet proof as the newer 1800s with just a few less horses.ThumbUp
