Valkyrie trunk kit

Anyone have a trunk on their Valk Standard trike?
I'm looking for a trunk kit and the right way to attach it.
Ideally it would have a built in back rest for my better half.

Thanks,

I had a 97 Valkyrie standard with a MotorTrike conversion and I also wanted to mount an Interstate trunk on her,,, which I never did.

Why?

First of all the Interstate trunks, if you can find them, are not cheap. You'll also need the side rails that go with the IS trunk. And in order to mount the associated side rails, you have to remove the trike body to get at the bolts. At least with the MotorTrike unit I had, that was the case. Being that I definitely didn't want to tackle removing the body, I'd have to pay someone to do the install. Between the cost of the trunk, paint job to make the trunk match the trike and the labor for the install, the final approximate total was way above my budget. With all that said, they do have generic trunks that also can be mounted but you have to be creative and able to fabricate your own mounting hardware for those trunks as they're not 'plug & play', if you know what I mean. I have seen Standard Valks with the Interstate trunks and they do look fantastic!!

And may I also add that my old 97 Valk was a doll!! Still wish I had her!

I have a friend in KC who has a 2001 Valkyrie Tourer with a Motor Trike conversion. He put an aftermarket trunk on his. It has a back rest as well. I believe the brand of the trunk is VIP. Don't know how much it cost, but pretty sure he didn't have to remove the body to do the install. His Valk is black & the trunk is also black from the manufacturer. The color match is not EXACT but close enough that you really have to look to see the difference. I will try to get more info from him if you want. Stan

I had also looked into the VIP trunks and they are a nice alternative to the Valk Interstate trunk. But I still had problems trying to figure out how to mount them. I can't remember the specifics now, but I think it was still the issue of not being able to access the mounting bolts that were blocked by the trike body or the fact that I still had to fabricate some kind of support for the VIP. I know others have used the VIP and seemed very happy with them especially due to the lower cost when comparing to the IS unit.

Where there's a will, there's a way! Hopefully others who have mounted either trunk will also chime in soon with some positive and usefull feeback. ThumbUp

My wife has a Tsukayu trunk on her 2001 Valkyrie standard with Motortrike. Although hers is a one seater I think you could mount this trunk on the luggage rack. It is padded
to let your passenger use it as a back rest. If I knew how to post a picture on this here I would.

Andy, Someone just advertised a Givi trunk for sale on the VRCC classified board this evening $100.00. Don't know anything about it just passing along the information.
