Just going to install one now..I have read good reveiws on there products..
I got one on my Road King trike. No problems. It has turned on a couple times, but only (as far as my ears can tell) when I stop the engine, then turn on the ignition. They will run about a minute, then stop. They sure put out the heat during that time.
One thing I noticed, I want to get a mud flap on the front fender to stop all the little pebbles from getting inside the workings. Also, don't let any oil spill when changing the filter, or that nasty oil seems to run like a magnet to the cooler, and gunks it all up.

I have one on my Ultra/Lehman and love it. You don't need to hear the fans running they give you an LED to tell you when it's running. Going from memory but I think it comes on at about 210* and off at 195* but when it comes on it will run for a while, you don't cool the oil down in a few minutes. I have not had any problems with derbies and I don't spill a lot of oil when I do a change. I would not block the air flow with a mud flap, my front fender has a metal guard down pretty low as it is. They are great to deal with. I had purchased one of their "old style" units and had not installed it when I called them to ask a question they told me they were coming out with a new improved unit and I should send the old one back and get one of the new ones. I did that and the one they have now is great. I put a manual switch on it so I can run it manually also. I also have the HD parade fan and did away with the thermostat and have it on a manual switch too.
How does that ultracool oil cooler compare to the Jagg oil cooler?

It has 18 rows and two fans. The cost covers the oil filter adaptor with thermoswitch, so you don't have use your oil pan extra threaded port in case you want to add something, I added an oil temp sender. Absolutely no comparison between the Jagg and Ultracool.
I would agree to disagree, I have a Jagg ten row on my 2011 that is fan asssisted and wired so I can control the fan. I've never seen over 230 in heavy traffic even with the heat and humidity here in SW Florida. During our winter I barely see 190-210. I also have the temp guage into my oil pan without a thermostat. It's all relative on who has the best product and customer service and not the newest and best gizmo. I guarantee that Ultracool upgraded the earlier product as there were leaking problems and it was not as good as the Jagg. I Beta tested them both and I know, so time will tell.

I'm glad you posted. I had the old model ready to install until I read your research. Good friend of mine installed the original and his temps actually went up. I sent mine back and got the JAGG fan assist and never see over 230 deg either.
I'm glad they made improvements as it's always nice to have options.
Jagg coolers are good stuff, I'm running a 10 row on my 120 equipped Ultra Classic and don't see over 230 degrees.
I forgot to mention that the ultracool has a chrome case and stainless steel braded oil lines. Never done any testing just features.
Just got done installing the new Ultra cool reefer oil cooler and tested it in the garage. I did not put the led in the fairing as they suggested I put it on the side of the bike on the heat deflectors. Works as described.
You can also get it in black, which is what I did. That way I don't have to polish it!

Now their video says 14 rows and shows a single fan. It seems odd to take away four rows of fins and the second fan.

I think they sell two types of oil coolers..
That's it. I just checked on what they list for the TG. It shows two fans.
I'm not sure they make the one fan unit any longer, old video and old pics.
