Hey folks, my 09 Stallion (plastic not fiberglass) won't let me open the trunk. Feels like the key is turning but nothing is happening. My guess is something was stuck in the edge when I closed it yesterday but I don't have a clue how to get it open. Afraid to go to a local body shop that isn't familiar with plastic. any ideas?

That is the first thing I tried. It doesn't feel like the key is engaging the lock mechanism. Will try again after I get home today. Wish me luck!

I had the same issue with my matching trailer for the Stallion when I was traveling with a group and had clothes in the trailer. We called out a locksmith and he had to drill out the lock and replaced it. It was a defective lock and I was reembursed for the replacement of the lock and the "housecall".

I called Richard at Throughbred and he gave me a tip about the license plate light cover. Did you know it will come off? don't pry at the black edge, just the plastic light cover. If you are creative and hold your mouth just right, you can snake something in there with a hook on the end to grab at the emergency trunk release and open the trunk. My cable that connects the lock to the latch had come loose. Thanks, Silver Devil for the phone coaching. After trying for a good while, I took it to my guys at the shop around the corner and they fished around in there and were able to get it open and re-connect the cable so it won't come loose again. They said it was not easy to do. This was a better solution than drilling out the lock which was my husband's first suggestion. Richard said this is not common but that he had heard of it happening.

now thats thinking that only comes from the factory. Saved you a lot of bucks congrats
