[FONT=&quot]In March of this year a bought a GW DCT California Sidecar Trike after selling my 2012 GW CSC Trike. Due to arthritis it was go to a DCT or quit riding motorcycles. Our spring here in Kentucky wasn't good for riding so I only got 7 or 800 miles on my DCT before my recent two week, 4700 mile tour of the west. I am glad to say that any reservations I had about the newly designed GW's or the DCT transmission were eliminated on my trip. The GW/DCT operated like the world class machine it truly is and performed accordingly. I found that I used the Sports Mode most of the time on my trip. When traveling through Kansas where the speed limit is 80 we would run out a complete tank of fuel at 85 mph in 95 degree heat. The DCT allowed me to keep up with the group using the transmission gearing instead of lugging the engine. I found the same transmission gearing and engine compression braking worked well when riding the Rocky Mountains. Please keep in mind I am riding a trike and have more weight than a regular GW so the Sports gearing works well for my requirements. The DCT made riding curvy twisty roads enjoyable. I found it amazing how intuitive the DCT is about knowing which gear you needed to be in. The DCT on my trike was tacking 3K RPM's at 80 MPH and would cruise all day without ever moving the temp gauge even in that heat. I checked the engine oil a number of times with no consumption and much to my surprise still looks clean after 5K miles since changing. My overall feeling is Honda hit a home run with the new design and the DCT. If you are on the fence about buying a GW with a DCT go ahead I think you'll enjoy it.

ThumbUpThumbUp.......................

Cool ride. Just for info even at those speeds what was your MPG?

Actually I thought my mileage was pretty good with my luggage, Woodford, cigars and my muscular carcass. When the speed was set between 80-85 I averaged 36 MPG using "Sport" mode and 7th gear on my DCT. My average MPG at 70-75 MPH was 39 MPG. I was able to fill with fuel at one stop which was pure gasoline without alcohol and got almost 10% better mileage. I was glad my GW uses regular unleaded as my friends on Harley's had to sometimes hunt for 93 octane which was in short supply out west.

Impressive! That is about 10 MPG better that our "old" wings get. I AM jealous and my bank account is starting to get nervous..... Jim

Jim, my bank account was nervous also. Then I had a long discussion with Randy at Cut'n shoots and realized just how reasonable a new DCT/CSC could be purchased. Then Randy displayed my DCT/CSC and I thought that is a nice ride. I then put my 2012 GW/CSC for sale and it sold the next day for asking price and the rest is history. I am really glad with my choice and decision.
