Triking Long Island to Tucson

Leaving early Monday morning from Tucson. Taking I-10 to Las Cruzes, NM. Angling up though Alamagordo and Roswell. I need to be at Tinker AFB in OK City Wed morning for some work. Then I-40 to I-81 north and back home. All dependent on weather, of course.
Been a great trip.:Joker3::wave4:

Safe ride home, B'bozo! We'll be thinkin' 'bout'cha! Glad you had a nice holiday with the family - wife gonna be home by the time you are, or can she stay with her folks a little longer?

The wife is leaving day after me. She misses her kitty cat. It's actually my parents. Pic attached. Her parents are long gone. I never met them. However, she is #9 of 11, so there were lots of siblings interogating me!

Well, Monday I left Tucson at 3:30am. hit some low 20's along I-10. Jumped up to Rt. 70 at Las Cruces, NM. Really nice route (best gas mileage for trip of 36 mpg). Saw a snow covered volcano (I was at 7000+ ft. at the time) after Alamagordo. spotted some kind of space cadet in Roswell. Also found proof that they will let "anybody" into Texas! Also found East of Amarillo the better answer to Cadillac Ranch. covered 700 miles Monday to Amarillo. Then a quick 260 miles Tues to Oklahoma City and right to work at Tinker AFB. Finished up on Wed leaving the world safe for democracy and will hit the road Thurs morning for the last 1600+ miles. Taking I-40 all the way to I-81 north. It's a little warmer on that route (southern snow not withstanding).:p

To busy riding and chilling and working to get on-line until tonight. Dianne made it home OK also and paid the bail to get the cat out of solitary confinement at the vets.

Outside of Little Rock. Passed an H-D dealer named Landers Suck Toad H-D. Not sure if I imagined the name due needing an energy drink! Will be passing Memphis around 3:30-4pm.

Stopped for the night about 90 miles East of Memphis. Only did a piddling 565 miles today. I feel like I am slacking off, but since I am not feeling all that well, I figured a good nights sleep was in order.
Did I mention that about 20 miles before I stopped, I started seeing snow on the sides of the road? I blame that Toad. He really Sucks!!!:Joker3:

Where did you see this new version of the "Cadillac Ranch", was it on I40 east of Amarillo? We were just up in that area not to long ago but we came up to Amarillo from the southeast in order to see the canyonlands (Palo Duro and Caprock). Both very cool areas, especially the free roaming buffalo at Caprock. One of them kept pawing the ground while giving us the evil eye. I'm pretty sure he felt challenged by the trike and thought he could take us and its probably a good thing for us he didn't try.

Anyway, glad to hear you had a safe and enjoyable trip. Also, I was wondering - did you have the Lift Kit installed before you left home?

If I am looking at correct location on map, it looks like "Beetle Ranch" is located next to East bound Exit ramp 96. Where Route 207 heads north. It was right on ramp. I had to slam on brakes to stop for it. A barn might be blocking view from highway. There was an abandoned "Route 66 Gas" station right there also. Pic below is facing NorthWest towards I-40 showing everything blocking view.
As far as lifter bracket kit. I have had it on TG for 10,000 miles now and love them. Handling is better and pipes don't scrape nearly as often.

Thanks, found it on the map from your precise description! We don't often go to the Panhandle but the next time we are up that way we'll look for the Beetle Ranch. It's fairly close to the Charlie Goodnight museum which we also didn't get to see when we were in the Amarillo area last Sept. Goodnight is famous in Texas for creating the "Goodnight Trail", the most important cattle drive trail in Texas history. He also "discovered" Palo Duro Canyon. Of course the native Indians had already been living there for 1000 years or more.

Appreciate your response on the lift kit. I've put 12000 miles on the trike so far and I'm beginning to run out of fingers on one hand to describe how many times I've either scraped the pipes or the bumper mounts.

Woke up Friday morning with whatever has been festering in my system gone. brain and body running on all cylinders. Punched the last 1100 miles in 19 1/2 hrs straight. Not even any cat naps. Got home at 3:30am. More details later after I attempt to get some sleep. Ears ringing. I think there is a hunchback sucking toad ringing a bell in there!

Heeeeeeyyyy, they raised the speed limit in VA up to 70. Was getting gas in Northern VA. A couple drives up in a pickup. Says they usually are on a trike. I tell them about TrikeTalk and also that I had been sneezing yellow for 3 weeks. They say it sounds like a sinus infection. D'oh! I should have known that. The wife gets them all the time. Anyways, I finally burned it out and feel better. figured traffic would be light rest of way. Right through Holland Tunnel into NYC. Canal to Mulberry St to Delancey to Williamsburg Bridge and I'm back on Long Island. Trike ran great.
