Heading out in the we (or is that "me"?) hours of Monday morning. Quick job in Jeannette, PA (near Pittsburg). Then making a bee-line down I-70, etc to Oklahoma City. I-40 West. About an hour over the AZ line and then back roads the rest of the way to Saddlebrook (parents are retired there).
Anybody spots me down there, give a wave. I will be there all Thanksgiving week. Trike will also be at Tucson H-D for the 30,000 mile service maybe beginning of week.
Stopping at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City on way back for some business also.
I really need this (mostly) vacation. Obviously I don't do nearly enough miles on my '10 TG. This will be my 1st really, really long trike ride (done all lower 48 states on 2 wheels already).
BTW, at 25k service they flashed update into ECM. It's hard to tell completely in the current cooler temps, but I would swear 6th speed has more power. :Joker3: :Turkey:

You take care, have a wonderful time, and tell your family that everyone at TT says hello!! Be sure to take a TOI roster with you; any one of us will be glad to lend a hand if you need any help along the way!! And if you do decide to come back through Texas, we'd love to see you!! Keep us updated on your travels - and post pix if you can!!

Best wishes,
BG and ScalpHunter

Bozo, you are heading out at a potentially wet or cold time of year through many areas. Be careful, but have a wonderful, wonderful trip!

As the weather looks right now, I expect to be hitting rain in PA. It looks like smooth sailing after that for the entire route. Worst happens is I have to add miles and detour south sooner than I plan.

Hey: Look at the bright side, it can't be any worse then when we left the Quabbin & had to deal with Hurricane Irene, you'll just have to put on your raingear like you did that day,,,,LOL. But on a serious note, be careful cause you'll be riding in colder weather...Tis

Thanks for all the well wishes. I hit the road at 3am. just taking a break in PA for breakfast. if I can attach it correctly, it's a view or very red pre-sunrise. Heading towards rain in maybe 2 hrs.

Aaaaahhhhh! Played "Rain Roulette" and won again...But just barely. At every gas stop I checked radar to see if I needed to put rain gear on. 50 miles from customer it starts raining as I pull into gas station. Radar looked like it was mostly tracking just North of PA Trpk. Spun the wheel and hit the road. No rain rest of trip. Next up will be "Gas Roulette" somewhere on trip. Of course I cheat by carrying a gallon with me. :ImWith:

Looks like a rainy day today. At least until I get through Ohio. Might stop at AMA museum. Just have to get through a couple of hours work and I am home free until after Turkey Day.

Have a safe trip, hope the weather holds for you. We had nasty thunderstorms here yesterday and the line looked like it extend almost to Indianapolis.

wow BB your trip down here makes mine sound like a trip across town. From home (northern Colorado) to Tucson was a 955 mile two day trip and it was a super ride. no rain no snow and no wind. very lucky I guess. anyway, going on 3 weeks down here now and staying until early April. If you end up at the dealership on friday or monday, let me know, I,d like to ride up and exchange a story or two with ya.

Greyfang, if I make it by the weekend, I will probably scheduleTuscan H-D service for Monday.
On another note. I had about 100 miles of rain. Took the rain gear off before Columbus, OH. Then stopped in the AMA motorcycle museum for a tour. Now stopped in Dayton for dinner. Maybe stopping for night after Indianapolis, IN.

Here's a couple of pics from museum. Only one trike and one sidecar there. Plenty of cool old bikes though. Walked through for almost 1 hr. If I had time probably could have stayed even longer.
Did I mention that snow flurries might be happening tonight where I am?:Crap:

Had planned to go through the night...Then the rain mixed with sleet mixed with low 30's mixed with darkness mixed with radar showing 100 miles of this stuff stopped me for the night in Joplin, MO. Only made a piddling 520 miles today. Did spot the pictured reverse trike scooter in the next hotel over.

I will indeed be at dealer. Just set up for Monday, Nov. 21st for the service. Since Tucson H-D Service opens at 8:00am, I will probably get there by 7:30am. I will PM you my cell#. As of right now, they are calling for rain that day. Better than the 29'F it is right now in Joplin, MO.:wave4:

Have a safe and fun ride today, Bozo!!!! Too bad I didn't know you were coming through Dayton, I'd have met you for lunch :)

It was actually a quick Taco Hell dinner.
Left Joplin, MO this morning and it was 22'F. Finally climbed to 33'F in OK City. The wind has been major blowing.
Quick riddle. What do call call seeing someone on the side of the road swinging a hatchet repeatably at a dead deer. Answer: the Chef's special at exit 163 on I-40 in Texas. :AGGHH:
And is it my imagination or is Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo closer to the highway than I remember it from 1995?
Covered 729 miles in 13 hours today. Just got a call from my wife that she fell and has a pretty good black and blue bump over her eye. I told her to go to hospital and have it checked out. I'm over 2000 miles from home and have an alibi. She's supposed to be flying down to meet me on Saturday.:gah:

Looks like I will be starting off the final day with 35'F. A heat wave compared to yesterday. Wife had a mild concussion for those interested. Fit to fly down here Sat.
Interesting thing. A couple of years ago, I signed up (free) for Google "Latitude". Once I invite, in my case, my parents and brother to join, they are able to track my cell phones GPS when I do these cross country trips. My father seems to be delighting in this and trying to guess where and what hotel I stop at for nights and sends an e-mail. Got current city right. I use points at good hotels for free rooms. Free room beats cheap room. After Albuquerque I will be taking roads off the interstate the last 340 miles.

Arrived in Tucson at 3pm. Took a really great route off I-40 in NM at exit 89. Went south on Rt. 117, then south on Rt. 36. then East on Rt. 60 and South on Rt. 77. The 1st 80 miles go through some national park or other. Can't remember the name. Well worth the ride. Great scenery, 55 mph most of time and almost completely empty road. Rt. 60 winds through a canyon in Apache area. After 2400 miles I finally started seeing some trikes on this road with bikes. great twisties. I got in a passing lane going uphill and curvy. The bikes were at steep angles. I passed them. What fun. Trip total was 2530 miles. Last day was best. Started out day in 6 layers. Finished in a T-shirt.

Dropped the trike off Mon morning for 30K service. Knew there was a small oil leak on right side. I thought it was oil pan. they knew exactly problem. leaks from cover on right side behind pipes. they replaced gasket. 4 hr job for that and they also noticed a little leak from Stator plug. So they replaced whole stator. Both under warranty. Bike back in 24 hrs and spotlessly cleaned. I love Tucson Harley. Plus, they found air cleaner gasket missing (from 25K service back home).I will probably take route back through Alamagordo, Roswell to Amarillo. then OK City for some work at AFB and back home. I leave next Mon.
