Re: Trike talk western rally ii

Looks like a good time of year to be out in that area--a little after the heat and a little before the cold. Just might make this one !!

Re: Trike talk western rally ii

Do it, Tom!!! You'd probably get the from-farthest-away prize! :D

Re: Trike talk western rally ii

The prize is the ride!!! I've wanted to do a loop around that area anyway-Sturgis, Mt Rushmore and back to S/E Utah and the painted desert.

Re: Trike talk western rally ii

Well if you need any info. I live in Cedar City. My neighbor just purchased a Road Smith 2006 Gold Wing. This will be great!

I'm the neighbor. :wave4: It will be great to meet some of you good people. :Excited: Another neighbor of ours manages the Crystal Inn.

CyberVet, be sure you click on the web link above to register for the rally. Even though you won't need the hotel reservation, they will need your registration info for rally planning. You all are going to have fun!!!! pepper

CyberVet & SMSgt This is great.pepper It's gonna be a good one. Local flavor always helps. Now we gotta encourage other westerners to attend. But time enough for that...:D

I'm really looking forward to the little rally.

Now I have a question...why is "Rally's & Rides” hidden under "This N That -Other Interests" way at the bottom of the forum instead of at the top under Rides and Rallies? Isn’t riding and meeting other people what it' all about, not just some afterthought “This and that or other interest”?

Cybervet told me about this rally and I couldn't find it. Course I'm not all that smart, I guess.

OK now I’m done I’ll go back to my coloring.
:D

I'm glad you've registered.... get some friends to join you (they are allowed to be on 2 wheels), because the more the merrier!!!! :D

Saltywheels, much as I wish I could join you, I'm afraid it's not in the cards....er, wallet....for me this year. :(

On a side note, I've "borrowed" your site setup for the Northeast Rally registration, sort of. But yours looks so much better!! :D

Wow how did I miss this until now! I am registered.I only live a short ways away in Spring City Ut. so there is no way I am going to miss this.We may be staying at the campground in Kanarraville about 15 miles south of Cedar City.BTW there is also a KOA in Cedar for anyone who wants to camp. That area is so pretty at that time of year and the temps are just right. The Sheaksperian Festival is still going on as well.If its ok I will post this information on another clubs website I visit a lot.

this topic seems to be hard to find or maybe its just me?No real activity since the end of Jan and here we are the end of Feb. How is the planning going? Anybody else signed up?For those of you not familier with this area the riding is just fantastic, plus it is a gateway to the rest of the Southwest,West or Northwest.

Hi Salty wheels
Need some information on the rally. Have 10 to 12 from the Boise area that are talking about comming down. but we are all campers , can you or some one that lives there give us some information oncamping places in the area? Thanks jusfun

I'm not Salty Wheels but I have been to Cedar many times and was there Sat.There are 2 commercial campgrounds in the area. Right in Cedar City there is a KOA campground on the north end of town.It looks nice and seems to have a goodly number of trees.I have not been inside I just drove past Saturday while there on another matter. My wife and I will probably be staying in this campground tho we will be using a 28 ft trailer.
Just down the road south in the little town of Kanaraville there is a very quiet little campground that I have used but can never remember the name of it.It is about 12 miles South of Cedar City.
There is also some good camping in the Cedar Breaks areaq but that is goodly tho beautiful drive every day.
I look forward to seeing you and your Boise friends.Cynthia and I were in Boise for another rally in June of 2010 and had a really great time up there. You have some wonderful riding areas.

See my post, #9. I asked the same question.

Next time you're in Cedar look me up. Cybervet and I are neighbors in Enoch.

Pegasus: Life's been kinda hectic. Have been in contact with others like Hisst (originator) & SMSgt with the intention of setting up rides. Am going to Utah later this month & maybe SMSgt & I can hook up. Thereafter things will start rolling...just hang in there, dude.

Let Me know if you need any help. If there are enough that come and you have enough different rides I can lead a group or what ever else you might need. I am only 3 hrs away from Cedar.

Howdy folks,

I'm new to this site, so if you have covered this somewhere else, or if everybody knows this, then please don't flame me. :gah:

1. How many do you have in your groups at one time usually?
2. How long are your trips?
3. What are some of the routes you take? (Mostly freeway or backroads?)

Thanks.

RonK

Hi RonK: Welcome to the Trike Talk Forum. Greatest bunch of riders around...bar none!

So far , we have 16 folks coming to the Rally. We expect the ranks will swell a lot more by the time Sept rolls around.

Bearing in mind that we are not a club or an organization, our Rally rides are pretty loosely put together. In a couple of weeks I will post ride destinations from Cedar City. We are lucky in that we have 2 'locals' so they might throw out some suggestions. But it is up to you to decide how & where you ride to. There is no set size to the ride groups. At our current cozy size, it well may be that all 7-9 trikes decide to ride together. Or we could split into smaller groups, depending who wants to go where.

We plan to keep rides at / under 200 miles round trip. Idea is to leave in the morning & get back for dinner. Anybody wants to go overnight, nothing says they can't.

Being trikes, we obviously will stay on paved roads, back roads & freeways.

Short answer to yr questions is: We will organize our rides as we go along. Main thing is Getting Together !!ThumbUp Sign-up, you WILL have fun pepper

If you have any concerns, you can p-mail me & we can chat off line.

Following is a response from Cedar City KOA:
