I would like to hear from anyone who has the hannigan kit on their stock 88ci dresser. I road a 96ci and it seemed to have plenty of power, but just wondering how it would be with a stock 88 motor. I thought about getting another bike, but like the one I have plus I don't want the heat and other issues that the newer bikes have.

I would suggest go ahead and convert your present bike. If you find that you want more power then just have the motor punched out. Cheeper then buying someone elses problem.

Yea, that was my thought as well. Another reason I decided to stay with my present bike is I just went to the new cam tensioner system and had a new "high load" drive belt installed along with all new seals on left side of bike.
I felt good about my decision until everyone started telling me I should have gone to a new 103ci with more power, of course these folks don't have trikes and I doubt have ever ridden one. Figured I would get the true facts from this forum and the trike owners.

All depends on your expectations, I know a guy who has a 88" Ultra Classic with a sidecar. He's ok with how it performs, he just realizes he has to down shift a lot on hilly roads.

When i bought my trike (an 02 ultra that has a Roadsmith Kit) it had a STOCK 88" motor it, on the 100 mile trip home and i noticed even 1 up it was just a little Week but wants your going it was fine. i upgraded it to 95" and put in an andrews 26N cam and i have NO plans on doing any thing else to it
took it throught the mountains last sumer two up and Loaded (wife likes to bring everthing just in case :)
I was going to trike my 97 with an Evo 80" but got such a deal on this one i traded and not sorry at all
Have fun and Ride hated to give up two wheels but it was hard to hold up everything with the hips and Knees letting me know that they are getting tired

I don't mind shifting when needed going up hills, I usually down shift to a lower gear when passing slower traffic anyway. Don't plan to tow a trailer behind it so hopefully it will have enough power for me and wife. Would still like to hear from someone that has a Harley/Hannigan.

The Hannigan is one of the heaviest kits you can put on a bike, at least that was the case with a friend of mine, but he had every conceivable bell and whistle and his wheel-base was a good "several inches" longer than my Lehman, or a Champion kit and a TG as well. I looked like I was on a Sporster when I rode with him. I am not bashing anybody's kit, but his was a bone stock 88 and it ran fine, but I could run circles around him. I will say that mine had a full Stage II build so it ran closer to a 96. I think you can certainly get by with it. No telling how many EVO's were kitted and they did alright. Like has been mentioned, you can pump the TC-88 up a few ponies with an engine upgrade.

Another good reason to hang onto that TC-88 is that you may have a much stronger motor from the standpoint of guts. Harley made some not-so-good changes in the lower end of the later engines. I would take an early pumped-up TC-88 over anything newer out there at the moment.

S&S 111 awesome bulletproof motor with a 3 year warranty. IMO the 88 is not near enough. Paid a little over $5,000 sold the 88 for $2,200 so only had about 3 grand in the 111 not much more than pumping up the 88 and a lot better motor IMO. I did the work myself but to R&R a motor can be done for 5 to 6 hundred still not bad.
