Friend of mine called me yesterday. Said his friend is seriously thinking of buying a 84 Wing with a trike kit on it. I advised against it because of the age of the bike.

Any idea what kit might be on this thing. It appears, from what I'm told to have been installed many year ago.

Possibly a Triwing conversion, as they are the only one I know of for older GL's. A picture would be a great help.

It could also be a Lehman or Motortrike from yester-years

The one thing to look at is the charging system to make sure its charging and that the 3 yellow wires from the stator to the reg/rec are soldered and shrink tubed. On olders GLs those connections begin to fail and there is poor contact. The 1200 is a good wing, there are still guys riding them and putting miles on them.

Trike Lady, you hit it on the nose. I saw the bike this afternoon. Looks very clean and well maintained. The guy got it for 5 K Thanks so much for the info

84 with kit

I have an 84 GL1200 Aspencade with a trike conversion kit on it. This one is a Richland Roadster kit from Trike on America. I’ve had it about 3 months, the odometer is broken but original owners says it’s around 180k miles. Doing good so far
