TRIKE CHECKS for 1st time ride.

Hi from Wisconsin. Have just bought a C50/Lehman Tramp. Need to get it ready to ride. What are the most important checks to make? I heard tire pressure for front and backs are REALLY important. How do you determine that? Any thing else ??????

THANKS!!! :wave4:

Ok, will do.

Checked my air pressure. Front tire 24 lbs., back right tire 21 lbs. and back left is 24 lbs.
I don,t think those are correct. What should be the correct pressures???

Thanks

21 to 24 lbs for the rears sound about as high as you would want them. On our trike I run 20psi most of the time, 22 on long highway trips with the trailer, gear ans 2-up. Don't know what tire you are running on the front, but usually 38 to 41 psi is specified. I run 41psi on the GL1800 Champion with a Michelin Pilot Activ, and the same on the Harley with a Dunlop D402.

Trikes are sensitive to rear tire pressures. A few pounds difference can affect handling a lot. Some folks run 2 or 3 pounds less the left wheel to compensate for the crown in the road. My take is to run equal in both tires, and steering against the crown will become second nature.

If you haven't yet, here is a link to a great resource. It may answer a lot of general questions: http://www.triketalk.com/forum/general-discussion/242.htm
Have fun, and don't be afraid to ask any question you may have.
