Tri Glide Insurance Costs

Just curious, I am going to pick up my Tri Glide this Friday and was checking on insurance costs.

The cheapest I found was $430 per year. Just curious if that is about the going rate for this model.

Got Formost , have 4 bikes. 2 have full coverage (includes triglide) $400 year. Keep shopping.

:Agree: I have Foremost for my 2011 TG and for a Honda Metropolitan scooter (49cc) and pay $367. a year.
I tried Foremost on my 15 TG and they wanted 1300 a year. Ended up with Allstate for about 500 a year. Obviously it varies state by state. Arkansas is considered a state you can ride in 12 months a year. Don't know if that affects the price.

You lucky Americans make me sick. I have a perfect drivers licence, no speeding no claims nothing. I pay $1400.00 a year for full coverage in Canada

Are you guys comparing Apples to Apples or as i suspect Apples to Oranges...:Shrug:
There are many different types of coverage/policy's' From the same company..
On the same Trike...

True, it varies from state to state, deductibles, even neighborhood, country living vs city livin, it goes on and on. I found that going thru a agency is a better deal than going direct. Plus I get a discount for a alarmed garage and defensive driving class plus having 4 bikes on the policy. JMO.

Have Dairyland and pay $321 a year, have a very clean driving record. What's surprising I was paying $410.00 a year for my '12 Ultra. Switched over to the trike and saved $89.00 on a newer model trike.

Now I will say that there was conversation as to weather it was a factory trike or a conversion. Seems insurance for conversions is more expensive. Go figure !!!

I didn't really mean Americans make me sick I like Americans. I should have said I am jealous how every thing in America has such better prices

Not to worry. One day, soon, our government will fail under a landslide of national debt and we all will be singing O'Canada before every hockey game!

I certainly hope not. I would like it the other way around. I think you Americans are the luckiest freedom loving people there are. I would be honored to be able to live in the us year around.

Besides the variables of basic coverage, I find that the biggest variable in price is the un-insured/under insured coverage.

I carry the max I can get on that (500k). It is expensive, but the likelihood is very high that if you need to use your insurance, it is because someone without insurance (or with too little insurance) hit you.

The un-insured/under insured coverage on my policy accounts for 50% of the premium.

For 3 bikes and two trailers, and all my mods are covered also, I am paying $850 with Allstate.

Just to update, since I am the one who started this conversation, I went with Dairlyland. They quoted me about $400 for the Tri-Glide alone, but the real savings came when they asked if I had another bike. I added my VTX 1800 and together, they were $427.

So the multiple discount was where I made out really well.

Shop around, know what your looking for as coverage as I just went though this last week. I went with MARKEL ($350) as was suggested by TrikeTalk members.
Progressive, Formost, Geico, Country companies, Allstate, Dairyland, Ryder etc. Not fun but you gotta do it!

Yeah, "full coverage" does not include UM. For full coverage on all 3 bikes, the mods, and two trailers comes in right under $400.

The extra $450 I pay is for all the yahoos driving without insurance or under insured.

They guy that hit me years back was insured...at the state minimums...his insurance did not even begin to cover all the expenses. Good thing I had UM. :)
