I've been using Red Line V-Twin transmission fluid in my '21 Freewheeler for about 6,000 miles and haven't seen any difference with the exception that I can actually see it on the dipstick.

To me it’s never made a bit of difference what weight or brand I have use. What has made the most difference is the primary fluid and proper level. Even off by 1-2 ounces made a difference in shifting and finding neutral.

I agree 100%. That has always been my experience, as well.

Over the past 36 years of owning Harley Davidsons, I have used many gear lubes and motor oils, have never felt one iota of difference between any of them.

As Notgrownup said, the important thing is the primary lube level.
