There's one side street here I must use , that crosses a major highway. The traffic light sensor will NOT pick up a motorcycle, 2 or 3 wheeler. Tried recomended magnets, riding on the sensor line, waiting for a cage to show up, even talking to the light.

Other than blowing thru it, has anyone got a solution

Not a solution, but a law that got passed here in Kentucky last year in regards to this problem...

If a motorcycle sits at a red light for more than 2 minutes, they may proceed through the light provided that the intersection is free of traffic.

Pennsylvania did the same thing last year. As long as there is no opposing traffic and the sensor did not trip for your lane you can proceed with caution. travel safely Fred

I will wate a reasonable amount of time ' Then when safe to go' I go...

According to the intierweb, so it must be true, as of April , 19 states allow it, after a reasonable amount of time, or time specified

If you live in NY, you got a better chance of seeing baby Jesus before the law is changed :gah:

Virginia has the two minute rule, also.

Thats only if the toast doesn't fall on the floor jelly side down....

Wait...I'm thinking of a different two minute rule...

Forget what i said , Continue on...

Found out the red light laws are referred to as "dead red" laws.

Dang-it....Texas is not on the list !!

Call 311 or whatever your equivalent is to talk to the road maintenance people. I had the same problem with a light I rode through on a regular basis, reported it, and they fixed it in about three days.

Hopefully those "big brother is watching you" states that utilize redlight cameras to the fullest extent, will allow motorists to pass through on red after waiting a reasonable? amount of time....

Just glad mine is not one of those...:clapping:

Yep, here the state has signs that say, to report and traffic light problem call 511.

After 3 redirecting phone calls, I got the right region # extension. The lady on the other end sounded like I desturbed her breakfast. Any way, she's to pass the info on. I Just Love NY :slow:

Most of the intersections in Florida where I live have the lines cut into the pavement so I can tell where the wires are buried to detect when a vehicle pulls up to a light. Big twin Harleys, and I would think Hondas too, have a large enough charging system that just a quick blip on the throttle creates a big enough magnetic field around the alternator that it disturbs the sensor in the ground and triggers the system so it knows I'm there. Have you ever tried using this approach? I always make it a point to put my alternator over the top of one of the lines cut in the pavement. Hope this helps.
