Red light cameras, speeding cameras, now this....

They been using it for some time now, I'm for it, It picks up uninsured and unregistered, Stolen...Suspended license, Scofflaw's' ECT......Most if not all license plates have a reader in the plates...

The LPR (License Plate Reader) system is a great crime solution tool. People say hey the government is knowing where I am going all the time. Well not really unless the license plate is entered to alert on or when read it has something that is wrong, it is just one of thousands read. There are other situations where looking at the tags read can help solve a crime. The LPR can be a witness just like anyone else.

The only people that hate it are the Skulls ! And ya don’t need a pole to prove it ! :clapping:

As far as invasion of privacy goes, put up a hedgerow.

LPR's are great. Here in Ga. on I 20 when the cops see a Texas tag they will run it. And a lot of times the LPR will come back saying the car came across the border 17 hr's ago and Bingo a drug bust.:clapping:

In a small town near me, they just built a brand new police station last month.....

I just went to visit the open house, and grand tour of the entire police station... What they now have are cameras that are located, at every entry point, and exit points leading, or exiting the town.... If the police are looking for a special plate, or car, all they have to do is put the number or car in a data base, and a alarm will go off (somehow) and let the police know that the vehicle that they are looking for just entered or exited the town.... You can actually sit there in the front office and see the line of car coming/going on the monitors.. Pretty cool I believe......I know I was impressed for sure.....

When the LPR is turned on in a patrol car, they can hardly drive though a large parking lot without it getting a hit...Sometimes its in error and sometimes not...IE: The registered owner has a suspended license, But the person driving does not...

Well this is just great. Now they can see I was at point A and catch me at point B and know I went over the speed limit to get there as fast as I did. So now they can just send me another "dues" payment request.

Hey they could do that with EZ-Pass......And before that they could have done it with the the toll tickets from when you got on the highway and then paid the toll when getting off...

I go though a toll to get to my club at least 3 times a month , And i don't use the EZ-Pass with my Trike, They just read my plate and send me a bill no extra charge just the posted toll..

i hope they can use this to take uninsured people off the roads !

The problem is that the insurance companies are not to quick and obliging in providing that information to the states for the records to be updated
