I had to go in the hospital and have a stint put in (again) and didn't ride for a week or 2 . we were getting ready for a ride sunday (finally) and I went out to check the air in the trike tires. needed a couple of pounds in the right rear and about 5 in the front.
when I checked the front one and took the gauge off , all of the air came out. couldn,t get it to stop. I took the valve core out and found a small balance bead stuck in the bottom of the valve core.

I have now added a valve core tool to my tool kit. glad I was home when this happened !

Yep, I made the same mistake on my ST1300. New procedure.

1. Carry air compressor

2. Turn wheel so valve stem is between 4 and 8 o'clock.

3. Give a quick shot of air BEFORE checking pressure to remove any beads stuck in valve core.

I don't know what brand of balance beads you use, but Dyna Beads sells a Filtered Valve Core, I guess to prevent what happened to you.
