I ride a 2013 FLHTCU. I am at the point when stopping and making tight turns I am uncomfortable when I am two up. My wife no longer feels safe when riding with me. I am checking out the conversion kits and I am leaning towards Hannigan Transformer. Looking for some solid advice. I live in Arizona so we ride all the time.

John, Welcome to Trike Talk Forum ... and we are glad you joined.

Hannigan is an excellent conversion and there are many excellent manufacturers out there. Not that you would ever have a problem but the installer is a key component in the conversion.

Find someone relatively local with a good resume' that represents the conversion that you desire.

If you haven't done so yet, try to ride several different brands and by all means ask lots of questions.

Good Luck too.

You will never look back upgrading to a Trike.

Welcome to the forum from Pennsylvania stop by often great people around here again welcome. travel safe Fred

Welcome to Trike Talk from Pennyslvania, John!!! This is the place to be if you are thinking about converting to three wheels! Lots of good information and a lot of fun on here. You won't regret going to a trike and your wife will love the ride stability.

welcome aboard John. The post from Lee (Jim) hits the nail on the head. What you are looking at is a great conversion. You might want to spend some time and call the owner of this site. you can find his number in his ad for CUT-N-SHOOT CUSTOMS on this site. Randy will answer your questions and even though he is in the Houston area he does a great job with building conversions including the one you are interested in.

Going (3) three was the best move I ever made O 'I forgot getting married was the 1st (she's right behind me reading this as I speak) I'm very glad I made the move myself, I'm actually finding that trike'ing is more fun then riding on two for sure....:gah::gah:

Hello John

welcome to trike talk, you are going to love a trike, I had the same problems as you and in 2012 I fixed the problem with a champion Kit on my Gold wing. there are many good kits to chose from, just look and ride as many as you can to make you mine up.

some one said the installer is important. that is correct find a good kit installer that make all the different's. people has said it will take 500 to 1000 mils to get use to it. I did not find it that way, it toke me 25 miles to real lies I was over steering the trike. I have a 6 deg. rake on my and it was twitch felling. ones I got over that it was fun fun fun. and you wife will also love it.

One factor when operating in the world of three is lateral force felt in turns. Becoming accustom to this was time consuming for me and my wife when we started riding a trike. Good luck to both of you and enjoy the ride.

Lateral force

How did you overcome that problem?

It took about three weeks for our bodies to get used to the new sensations. The person that converted mine suggested I take some time getting used to this before I got on the interstate going home. There was a large high school parking lot close where we could practice.
