Now that we have sold both the tri glide and sportster I have a 2006 softail with a motor trike kit on it in the cross hairs.

We have reached a verbal agrement but it is 600 miles from me.

What are the heat and performance chalanges on the softail trikes?

What year are we talking and model softail?

OK, I made the deal on it. One of my Heritage Springer Brothers will be picking it up for me later this week and I will be going to Tenn. to get it one weekend when there is no snow and ice on the roads.

We wanted a gold wing but at least this bike will have us ridding together on occassion and we are in it at roughly 1/2 of what the tri-glide was and I hope the heat on the leg factor will be less.

Right now it has a sissy bar and luggage rack and pad combo.

To mount a HD Ultra tourpack on it would I need mounting hardware from HD or Motor trike?

Also it now has pegs for the rear ridder, to convert to floorboards will it take special mounting brackets to stear the boards away from the rear fenders?

Well this trike is now ours. It was in Va. but a Heritage Springer brother from east Tn. picked it up for us today. We will be travelling to east Tn on the weekend of the 17th to bring it home. We are into it for almost 1/2 of what the triglide was. Plans are to add.

Ultra classic tour pack.
quick detach front fairing with tunes.
rear floorboards.

For the mounting brackets for the floor boards I used the passenger floor board mounts that come on the screamin eagles. Their expensive. But allowed me the ajustment for clearance and being able to tilt the floor boards. making it more comfortable for my passenger. Plus on quick stops the passenger can use their foot pressure on the boards to keep from sliding forward.

To mount the tour pac. I'd wait till ya had the two together. May not need a kit from either place.

I picked the trike up over the weekend and it is home now.

While I was at my friends he let me ride his street glide with side car and now I am considering selling this trike and getting a side car unit for one of my springers.

That would fit both my wife's needs and mine. Old school looks and 3 wheels.

1. If repainting to get rid of the mural-try oven cleaner, a little elbow grease and then polish. You might not need the re-paint.
2. I know this is stupid but, I can't find a MT conversion for a softail on the MT web sight! Is it solid axle or IRS?

DD:
This is a solid axle kit. To be honest I do not see Motor trike marked on it anywhere.
I was just going by what the owners told me but they spoke french more than english so there could have been a breakdown in langauge there. IT looks the same as a Leaman looking at the axle.

Its a Motor Trike.

Cold style oven cleaner will only work if the bike mural (art work ) has never been clear coated. If it has clear coat it might work if only the trunk lid was touched. I sort of doubt it .
