I was wanting to know if anyone had used this trike kit for a Sportster? I'm building one for the wife and have some issues. The kit quality seems ok but the instructs are crap. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi lithone! Welcome to TrikeTalk. I don't think I've heard of SST kits myself. Hopefully you'll get some good help from the many knowledgeable folks on here.

After a quick search, I didn't find anything online on Silver Street Trikes relating to Sportsters. Do they have a web site? Maybe you can post some pictures of your problem areas & some of us gear heads can figure it out?? There are several of us familiar with Sportsters with a fair ammount of mechanical know how, so just maybe we can help.

If you want a good trike kit for a Sportster try thr Frankenstein, I put one on a sportster a couple of years ago and the lady liked it. If you want something with a body try the Corsair trike kits from John Edwards. Neither of these trike kits look crappy. I believe there is another sportster kit made by US Trikes. Google them and see what you think of their trikes.
Thank you,
Trike Lady

I own an SST's trike kit and have had nothing but trouble. First the rear brake calaper needed modified. less than 400 miles the pin came out of the differential. not good at all. sent it back to SST's. Recieved the same diff with a bolt thru the center not a pin. It's leaked grease every sence. Need to replace rear brake pads cause grease blew all over and ruined pads.

Welcome aboard. Glad you joined us. Sorry about your misfortunes.

I have had nothing but trouble with this kit i bought 2 years ago and 500 mi.
The differential leaks grease all the time and we’ve tried almost everything to stop it. After the pin came out of the differential this summer. We sent it back suppose to repair it. When we received the Diff back it was full of filings and no grease. We got it back and running but makes me nervous to ride.
