Road King Conversion to Trike

Hi, I'm new to TrikeTalk and I was told that this would be the best place for information on converting from two wheels to a trike. My uncle of 90 years old has a Harley Road King with a side car and he is considering triking it out. So, I'm in the market for information on the best trike kit out there and conversion shops for Harley's. Thanks!

90 years old and still riding!!!!! Impressive --- you obviously have good genes .

You are in the right place for information! There are a number of great kits for Harley and about all of them are represented on TrikeTalk. You'll need to narrow down some preferences -- for instance: independent suspension or straight axle; what kind of reverse set up you'd want, etc. After that, it is all about appearance of the finished kit, and most importantly finding a good conversion shop near you that has experience with the kit you choose and will service it for you afterward too. $$$ makes a difference, and there is a fair range in that area too. Where are you (and/or your uncle) located, by the way?

We have a couple of great Sponsors on this site that both build excellent trikes, and I would encourage you to make contact with them. Randy at Adventure Trikes and Phil at UNBCustoms. They should be your first contact while you wait for member input. They both have a banner on the HOME page here that will link you directly to their site.

Hang around for a day or two...... you'll have more input than you thought you'd ever get .

Then you can pick out what is important to you and move forward with it.

WOW! I thought at 70, I was doing well, but now I have another major goal to achieve.
Keep us posted with pictures of both the sidecar rig and the trike conversion.
Hi trickyrick, Welcome aboard. Congrats on the dad who is still at it. I built a trike out of a 07 Road King Police this past February. I used a Champion Conversion. Did all most all the work myself. Check out my albums and I am willing to answer any questions.
