Rivco armrest

Does anyone have any experience with the Rivco Adjustable Passenger Armrests - GL18094? If so, how would you rate them? Are they sturdy? I like the way they swing up instead of to the side.

We've had 3 different styles of arm rests including Kuyakyn, and my wife likes the Rivco the best.
One word of caution, they are mounted to the speaker box adjacent to the seat and we developed a crack (in the speaker box)) that caused the arm rest to sink.
The mounting arrangement utilizes a flimsy rubber style anchor. I replaced them with something more substantial.

The armrests I was looking at appears to have curved mounting plates that are mounted behind the seat. It looks fairly sturdy. I want something comfy for the wife, but I don't want to damage any plastic parts. (PM coming.)

I have the Rivco arm rest for my wife, they are very well made...but the best thing about them is the company that makes them....this past winter after I returned home from Key West I noticed the chrome was peeling & pitting...I called Rivco to see about buying new arms, as mine were out of warranty...the lady at Rivco asked for the date I brought them, after I told her she said they are not that much out of warranty, send me a pic of the parts you need & we will replace the parts, or send you a new arm rest kit...I did & Rivco replaced my damaged parts free of any cost to me.

The ones I would advise you not to buy are the "Stealth" ones from Kuryakyn. I have them on my Harley trike and they look nice, but my wife hates them because the hard rubber molding edges cut into her arms after a while and are really uncomfortable for her. I sent them off to an upholstery shop to get padded - hope that works.

I looked at Rivco armrests at the same time - wish I had gotten them now.

have the same arm rest on our Spyder RT. the wife loves them and gets so comfy she has been known to doze off to sleep :AGGHH:

That's one of the reasons I didn't want the kind that swings outward. I figured that with those that swing up and adding a seat belt will keep my wife from falling off when she falls asleep.:laugh:

You talk like loosing a passenger would be a bad thing....

Saw a set of the Rivcos at the Maggie Valley gathering last year. Very sturdy, well made and the mounting system seemed to be better than the ones that mount to the side of the trunk or, like we had, under the grab handles. ThumbUp
Started to discuss it with Gloria, and found she never used them and would rather not have armrests in the way. The only thing she used them for is a drink holder on the right one and a armrest bag on the left. New we clamp a cup holder on a grab handle and the new seat backrest has a bag atached. As far a I know, she is the first co-rider that wanted to take off the armrests.:Shrug:

I might not even notice until I realized I wasn't getting bumped in the back of the helmet on a regular basis. Then she would probably expect me to turn around and go back to look for her.:laugh: I guess I would since I've had her for 42 years and she's put up with a lot since 1973.

I thought the Revco arms mounted to the back of passenger seat. How difficult is the installation? Is there a utube video?

Installation isn't hard @ all...just follow the directions that come with the arm rest.

well with the backrest on the driver seat she ain't falling out. the armrest do swing out but they are torqued pretty good so it does take some doing to move them.

just glad she is comfy enough to doze off from time to time. that way she isn't hitting me in the back of the head for speeding .. lol.
