RECALLS: M&P Shields & Springfield Armory XD-S

Thanks Mr. Wizard. My XDS falls within the recall numbers. Have my shipping label and will visit Fedex in the morning. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for the heads up, mine is also included in the recall. So it looks like it gets to take the long ride.

Thanks from me as well Mr Wizard ThumbUp
Kudos to SA for the action and the ease of return. No Fed Ex store here in the backwoods (nearest 50mi away) so will have to order a pick up at work Tues. I'll sure miss it while it's gone.
Amen Rod, quite the popular little " Trike Accessory" ain't it :D

I'm hoping they get the fix in soon. Want to upgrade from .380 to a .45 and want to get a look at one of these.

I learned about the recall at my local Gander Mountain store on Sat. I was buying a versa carry holster. The clerk was nice enough to let me try out the holster. When he saw my SA XDS.45 he told me. (he too carrys the same weapon)I later went to the web site.My number also fell into the range but when I ran the number though thier recall web site Iwas told that my weapon was NOT under recall! I sent an e-mail to the recall folks asking to claify. I have not recieved an answer. Any one else have this happen to them?

I think they have bitten off more than they can chew at SA. There is an update to their FAQ page two days ago saying they are still testing the "fix" and so sorry for all the delay's.

I wonder if they're some how connected with Harley Davidson:xszpv:.

Hey Bullet, checked out the holster. Ordered one tonight. Thanks for the tip.ThumbUp

I already own one for my full size XD and they are great holsters. I like to ride knowing my pistol is securely locked in place yet easy to get to if needed.

Utilize a Bear Creek Holsters (New Braunfels, TX) IWB crossdraw for my XDs. He works with each Client to modify and customize the holster to accommodate the individual's tastes and preferences. Made a right side IWB with rearward negative clip to holster angle so I could wear left side for cross draw as well as modified the clip location to get just the right carry position and exposure for acquiring. Guess I'm Old school and just prefer leather. Bear Creeks are hand-made molded and provide just right tightness for fit, allows the weapon to wear low and deep into the holster and combines secure holding power as well as smooth draw when needed and wanted. Otherwise it carries majority of the Sidearm in the holster and not upward into my side exposed. Just right amount of handle to grasp and purposefully remove. The kydex styles have too much weapon riding high out of them for my tastes. Having the most bulky half of the pistol sticking out makes for an uncomfortable carry and a more difficult drawing position unless you are tall and long torsoed. They require long fingers to ready-grasp the weapon and depress the lock release as well which slows down the removal and acquisition.

If/when seconds count, that's a big difference maker.
But, that's just me (5' 10") and set in my ways Plus past stupid/hard living makes it more comfortable and quicker for me to cross draw rather than shooting-side draw. Unless (actually prefer) right side thigh holster rig but that's too Tactical and not very "concealed-carry" smart or friendly.

P.s. Apologies to Mr. Wizard and others for the tangent Hijack.

Don't matter if your talking about riding, carrying or other, guys gotta find his own comfort zone that best fits his needs. My new BS holster only run me 36 bucks. Can't beat that price with a big ol stick.
