I have always had good luck with Michelin tires, has anyone tried the Michelin Premier on the rear of a trike? I am wondering if some car tires may ride harder than others, I guess that the Dunlaps are ok, I have just never been a big fan!!

thanks.

I've not tried any Michelin's on the rear. I have run the Goodyear Comfortred's and they are quite a bit more compliant than the Dunlops. They give a much smoother ride with the sidewalls that flex more than the OEM Dunlops.

Back in 2014 I put the Dunlop Signature II on my 2011 TG. I purchased them at Quick Lane in Jamestown, ND. They would not remove the tires from the trike so I just jacked up the trike in the back, removed the tires and took them up to Quick Lane. Once they were mounted and balance I took them home and put on the trike. Not really a whole lot of work to do that and saved over $200. on what my HD dealership quoted for the Harley Dunlop tires with installation. The Signature II tire is a bit softer in ride and has a different tread pattern which seems to handle better than the HD Signature tire.

Now my 2016 is just shy of 30K and tread is getting near the time to change depth. I haven't gotten a quote from the HD dealership here in Meridian, ID other than they give free mounting and balancing to local HOG members. I'm assuming it will still be around $400 for the HD tires and labor to remove and replace the tires. I will probably check tire dealerships around here for the Goodyear Comfortread and maybe a couple other brands.

2016 Deep Jade Green and Black TG with lots of DK Custom parts.
