I'm looking to replace my 225/60R16 Michelin Primacy MXV4 Blackwall 98H all season tires on my 2004 Lehman Honda GL1800 trike. These tires still look like new, extremely quiet and offer a comfortable smooth ride but, are now nine years old. I've been looking around for a great replacement and would like to know what you real world rider's have experienced and would suggest? I would sincerely appreciate your input, Thanks. Ray

I put Goodyear Assurance ComfortDrive all-seasons on my 2022 DCT Tour CSC trike......Couldn't be happier.......quiet and great handling tire. Nice smooth ride..

I think you gave yourself your best recommendation. I'd put another set of the same and smile for another 9 years.....

I love these Michelin's and wish they still had them..... There are still a few around but, with older mfg dates. As far as Michelin goes, it looks like the Defender 2's are the closest to my Primacy's in my size. They have some other nicer choices but, not in my size. Thanks. Ray

Here you go. I took the recommendation from my tire dealer. I’ve known him a longtime. Rode about 150 miles yesterday and I like my choice. I couldn’t get Comfortreds in the size I needed and these were my second choice but I’m happy.

Just took a look at these Goodyears.... Very nice tire with great spec's for comfort along with being quiet. Unfortunately, both the Assurance ComforTread and Assurance ComfortDrive doesn't come in my size. There are others in the Assurance line but, it appears that they lack what these tires have to offer. Damn.... 🤨

Thanks for the pic.! I'm glad the Michelin Defender T & H worked out for ya! So far, it looks like either the T & H or the Defender 2's are in store for my ride. Been trying to find out the differences between them in regards to ride and noise but, nothing so far other than a few $$ and that the Defender 2 is the latest in the line up. If there is a difference, I'm guessing it's probably not much. I'll keep digging.... Thanks again! :)

Tire Rack and Walmart carry the Good Years in the size you are looking for, also check Discount Tire near you

They do have the Goodyear MaxLife and WeatherReady available in my sizes but, not the ComforTread and ComfortDrive. I'm sure the others are great tires but, spec wise they appear different than the ComforTread and ComfortDrive. Living in Michigan with sh.. for roads I would prefer the spec's of ComforTread and ComfortDrive. Thanks. Ray 👍

What size do you need?

215/45-R17 is what I have on my CSC trike......

btw - the ComfortTread is no longer made and was replaced by the ComfortDrive......that's what I was told by a Goodyear dealer.

Hope you can make it work somehow.....they are fantastic tires IMHO.

I love the tread-wear indicator on the ComfortDrives......no guesswork at all!

That's awesome! Love that indicator as well.... Sweet! I wish they had them in my size 225/60R16. I just got off the phone at Discount Tire in which they gave me a price of $356.00 out the door for a set of Michelin Defender 2's mounted along with road forced balancing. They're supposed to be a smooth riding, quiet tire and is the newest Michelin other than the Defender T & H's. Thanks! Ray 👍

OK...... First, I want to thank all of you here that showed me some amazing choices. Tire size availability is what drove me to the conclusion of going with the Michelin Defender 2's. I had them road forced balanced and installed at Discount Tire. I'd like to add, I also replaced my front tire with the Avon Cobra Chrome "Trike" tire. This is my second Avon "Trike" tire.... changed out due to age as well. In regards to these Avon's, they're second to none in every way. I'm taking a little 350 mile ride this week therefore, I'll report back on my ride letting everyone know my experience with my new tire's. Ray 😊

I'm back.... I rode just shy of 500 miles on my new tires. I knew what to expect out of the front Avon "Trike" tire but, not with the Michelin Defender 2's. These tires rode comfortably smooth without any road noise! In a word, Awesome! In fact, I feel that they were equal to if not slightly better than my Michelin Primacy MXV4's. I have always ran the rears at 27psi due to riding two-up 98% of the time along with my CSC Escapade trailer. At this point, I'm extremely happy with my choice and would highly recommend them! Thanks again guy's for all your help, very much appreciated!! Ray 👍😊

I have to admire the built in treadwear indicator too; it's a brilliant idea. And then there is the flipside ... basically it took 150 years of making tires for someone to think of it. And the arrow on the fuel gage, to show a driver what side the fuel door is on, about 120 years.
