Ready to glide...almost

Hello everyone,

I've been lurking here for some time and I think now is the time for me to officially say howdy. HOWDY Y'ALL!!!!!!

My wife and I are in the process of getting our 2007 H-D Roadglide triked.

It's being outfitted with a Motor Trike kit with all the bells and whistles.

It's being converted at Superior Trikes in Florence S.C.

We're about two weeks into the process and have about another two loooong weeks to go.

We live in the Myrtle Beach area and anticipate an extended riding season this year.

Hello Glider3! Welcome to TrikeTalk. So glad you have decided to join us :D.
How exciting! We can't wait to see pictures of your new baby, so be sure to start a personal album on your profile page as soon as you can. Do you have any of the conversion process?

You are in a great location for riding most of the year. You will love the trike!

NANA,

Thank you for the welcome. Yes, Bob at Superior Trikes is taking pictures of the conversion process so we'll be sure to post them as they are made available to us. We took pictures of the two wheeled bike being loaded on the trailer and we'll definitely have more of the finished product. We chose the Motor Trike because we (the wife) liked the style and the ride.

Now all I have to do is learn to ride three wheels instead of two. We're hoping to have it back by BIKE WEEK. We'll see.

Thanks again.

There are several previous discussions on here about getting comfortable on a trike (after being used to 2 wheels). Be sure to read through them and glean the wisdom and experience there. The biggest thing is to go at your own speed! take your time and only progress as you have the feel for it, and have fun with it. You'll find that, with a couple of hundred miles of going slow and practicing, you will suddenly find it is easy and natural! I think you will love the stability and the loss of worry about tipping and balance on gravel, uneven roads, etc. Remember: HAVE FUN!

Welcome aboard, Glider3! Can't wait to see pix of your trike-in-progress and, of course, the finished product.

There are several new trikers on this board, including me, as well as many experienced trikers. It's a great place to grow and learn as a trike rider. See you around the threads!:D

If you never rode a trike before or never rode a Snowmobile etc. the 1st few miles ( 50 to 100 )will be scary. Do not be discouraged takes some 500 to 1,000 to loose the 2 wheel thinking. Actually you have to almost forget a lot of that. REMEMBER you are wide now stay off the yellow line. stat away from toll booths and gas pumps. And Oh yea almost forgot WELCOME aboard

Thank you all for the most gracious welcome. We can't wait to get riding again.
The weather down here is beautiful. Today near 80*.

John, my work computer will not allow me to open your IM but, I will get to it when I get home.

I've been on ATV's before but, never a snowmobile. In the beginning I plan on putting a nice bright sticker on my gas cap that reads: YOU ARE ON A TRIKE!!! It will show that I'm a newbee triker but, it's better than replacing body work, wheels etc.

If we get the trike back before bike week then we won't have to worry about going too fast......nothing goes fast during bike week except the idiots.

Please feel free to send me tips and tidbits of helpful info.

Again, thank you all.

Welcome Glider.....I am assuming you will be staying away from the city of Myrtle Beach? We have gone to bike week the last 3 yrs. Not going this yr. Going to Outer Banks instead. Leave day after tomorrow!!! YAY!

Welcome aboard glider3 to a fellow RoadGlide triker. Great choice. Looking forward to seeing your posted pictures. Ted
