Ready For the Trike Adventure to Begin - New Forum Member From Michigan...

Cheers, all!

Darryl from Mount Pleasant Michigan joining the ranks. I've spent the last year pondering a trike; watched the videos, read everything I could. I knew the Tri-Glide/Freewheeler wasn't going to be the right choice for me so I went with a Frankenstein conversion for my '13 Wide Glide. I've got quite a bit of work in to that Wide Glide so she's the perfect choice to begin the trike adventures.

The conversion kit arrived last week and the games are about to begin; we're finally starting to see some hints that spring is here at long last so when the Wide Glide rolls out for the first time in 2018 she's going to have a different look  Opted for the upgraded wheels and 265/50 tires with the Frankenstein conversion, and my painter will be able to tackle the fenders in about 10 days; I know better than to try prepping and painting those fenders myself. The new front wheel was a custom order so that's several weeks out but the time to do the conversion is here.

I'll grab images along the way to document the carnage

Welcome to Trike Talk Darryl! Keep posting pics as you get it all together!

Darryl, welcome aboard. Good luck with the conversion. Looking forward to seeing the progress and completed project.

Darryl, Welcome to Trike Talk Forum. As stated above, we are glad to have you aboard and the only cost for membership is frequent posts. We love pictures, lots of pictures. Can't have too many pictures !!!:D

I am really looking forward to starting this project; I'll do a build thread with lots of images. I enjoy working on the bikes as much as riding them and this is going to be a major evolution and I'm ready for the changes that converting her in to a trike will bring. I've had a thing for trikes ever since the Exile Cycles trike build in the Biker Build-Off episode years back and now is my chance to have my first trike.

The innocent victim awaits... :D

Hello and welcome to the forum, your bike is going to make a very nice trike. Do you intend to put the flames on the fenders also?

Just a consideration?

get the back end set up and pre-fit the body just in case you need to do a little trimming for floor board or some such before painting?

Not that unusual. I had to do it when i built mine.

When building our own we sometimes get ahead of ourselves.

For pics of my conversion google pcombe library/photobucket,

There are plenty here who have built their own.

Check out trike talks prices on raked triple trees they are half the cost of others and high quality.
