We all know it's not if but when will you next be caught while out riding and a rain storm finds you. So I'm looking for recommendations for rain gear including helmet. I don't have a full face helmet, but thinking of rain I'm guessing a full face helmet would be best or are there other alternatives.

Links to best place to buy outerwear would sure be appreciated. TIA

What we use: Motorcycle Rain Gear - Frogg Toggs (froggtoggsraingear.com)

Frogg Toggs also sells motorcycle boot covers to keep your feet dry. I brought a set when I got my rain gear and I love em.

I opted for Harley gear, 8 hour rides and dry as a proverbial bone. First gear, Olympia ,Bilt & others have good gear. A few friends had Froggtoggs and said it was ok for getting caught in the rain but not all day. I’ve never used it so no personal experience with it. I have a Shoei Neotec II for rain I carry for long trips. Just bought my wife a HJC I30 with a Pinlock for anti fog.. it’s a nice helmet for $150. If you want gear that is designed for long trips that will protect you in the rain for a whole day of riding , you will have to pick wisely. My $.02

I too have Harley rain gear, the jacket has a hood, the zipper has a final closure of a Velcro strip for added protection from rain
The pants have a strap that secures the leg to the bottom of your boot/ shoe, all in all a pretty good set

+1 for the Harley gear.
We have had ours since 2017 and have put 90K on the trike since then.
Have ridden in all day storms and some really strong short ones and it has performed exceptionally well.
I also have waterproof boots from Harley that I usually wear on longer trips.

I went @nd looked at the Frogg Togg’s website and looks like they have upped their game but at that price I would rather have Harley tried n true products. Looks good though.

I experimented around with some different cheaper rain gear over the years. None of it was really high quality. I kept looking at Harley rain gear and finally caught a good sale at a dealership and went all in for both of us.

As far as boot covers I don't use them. First and foremost, I'm just to dam old to be trying to bend over and put them on these old size twelves. I keep my riding boots treated with saddle soap so my feet don't get wet.

My helmet is a half helmet. I have a pair of goggles with interchangeable lenses that I have had for over 20 years that work perfectly.

I use a 3/4 Shoei but I can’t find a visor that will snap on there properly so I carry my Neotec II with me on multi day trips specifically for the rain. I hope I don’t have to use it or my rain gear on my upcoming MI trip

That’s Boujie right there… I can’t go there. Nice stuff though. Maybe when I grow up.
Yeah, a little expensive but very versatile. I ordered the Aerostich just before I decided to ride from NJ to Alaska and back in 2017. I knew I would be on the road quite a long time and the chances of encountering rain daily north of the border was very likely. It held up to the task and I am still using it.

I don’t blame you. I hear it’s very nicely built clothing. You get what you pay for. I am planning on retiring in about 5 years and I will probably get some new textile layers of some quality.
