Morning.

Was out for a ride a few days ago and noticed that my radio isn't telling me the artist that's singing or the group.

Does anyone else have this problem ?

Drivin me crazy :xzqxz:.

THANKS for any HELP.

Morning Rick, I'm no expert on this but if it was working before..might just be a software update is needed :xszpv:

First thing I would check is the Radio Broadcast Data System (RBDS). Wile tuned to an FM station, select "MENU" from the top of the screen. Look for the RBDS check box at the bottom of the menu screen. Make sure the box is checked.

Sometimes these things have a tendency to get quirky. You might have to uncheck it, then check it again.

Mine sometimes stops giving me navigation audio cues. I have to turn audio cues off then back on again and it works fine for a while.

Good Luck.

DAVE. Thanks Bud that was it .

Must have hit the button on the left hand side of the handle bars.

Move that one way or another and anything can happen lol.

Thanks for the heads up Dave.

Kein Problem!

My guess is that it did it on it's own. Like I said, I've had settings mysteriously change themselves with no help from me.

Glad I could assist.

DAVE:

I now have another problem with the Radio.

Now it just cuts off for about 10 seconds and comes back on. NO sound.

I've checked and RE checked the wiring & the Ant all the way back to the tour pack and its all tight.

Took the faring and the seat off can't fins any problems with it.

But It's still doing it.

It was closing time at my local HD dealer I asked a tech about it.

He said they had one in there that was doing something like that.

For me to check my Nav see if its trying to tell me something but I can't hear.

Not sure what she was talking about BUT I turned on the Nav page on the Bike and it was in map.

Its not a volume problem or a speaker problem.

I switched from front to back and they are all good.

Made sure the ant wasn't in the way of the seat or under the faring.

When it is on its good sound just every 30 seconds or so it cuts out.

Not as much when its in the garage but still does it............................ HELP.. Rick

OK Alan. I'll do the battery disconnect for a while

OK Here I go again taking the faring off again. But I want to cover everything so its worth it on my end.

THANK YOU.

Back in a little while.

While I go out there and try all this. :)

OK.

Checked all fuse's Good to go.

Let battery set unplugged for a min.

Check speakers for any thing loose ...Nothing.

For the 5th time checked all wiring going to and from Radio and can't find a thing wrong with any connections.

Tried the radio with fairing off of Bike same thing... Stops for around 10 seconds and goes right back to play the song.

Antenna is tight front and back double checked that also.

Problem is it does it even when the bike is just sitting there in the garage :(.

So Alan any other things I can check off the top of your head. ??

I'm lost and I have nothing else to look for as far as I know..

Wish there was a HD TECH on here to help out...

Thanks again Alan for your help. Wish we could have found something !..............Rick

Rick, have a look here,

How to access the radio’s diagnostic display:

1. Press the eject button and remove any CD.

2. Press and hold any two softkeys (numbered buttons 1-6) then turn the ignition switch to ON.

3. Once the H-D logo is displayed, the radio’s software does a complete switch check, scans for current DTC’s, and then displays the radio diagnostic display.

4. Release the sofkeys ONLY after the radio diagnostic display appears.

5. If there are shorted switches, the display will show a DTC and brief description of the source/cause of the problem.

6. If there are no shorted switches (or other DTC’s) the radio display will read “Diag Test” and allow several functions, e.g. checking the switches, checking the software version, etc.

· If a switch is functioning properly, the display shows the switch name and “OK.”

· Verify that the switch you are checking is the switch identified in the display. Because of the switch wiring, the display may show “OK” but the switch identified in the display may not be the one you are testing, so you need to verify.

Afternoon everyone :).

Thank you all for your response's on my radio.

I got a hold of a couple friends of mine that has the same year and radio.

Tim & John both told me what to do and what to look for.

Tim actually faced timed me and ran me thru it.

WALA The Radio is back in action folks.

It was the Navigation trying to tell me something but the volume was too low to hear it.

So it was just inferring with the radio.

Once I shut the Nav off It works great now.

Man It was getting on my Nerves for a while.

Sure glad it was an easy fix.

Thanks again Gentlemen fr your help.............................Rick
