I have two questions, both I believe should be fairly simple. When riding I'm noticing an orange triangle above the gear indicator. I assume this is an indication that it's time to shift. This appears below 3000 rpm while I've read that the Spyder RT powerband is around 3200-3500 rpm. The bike is in normal mode. Am I correct that the this is an indication of when to shift for optimum mpg?

The other question, CanAm recommends that you should not ride at the same speed nor brake hard for the first 600 miles. The varying of the speed is typical of most motorcycles, but the braking is something I've never heard before. I ask as over the past week of riding we have seen 56 deer with one causing extreme braking on my part. The good news is that the Spyder handles extremely well when brakes are aggressively applied.

Thank you

Sorry no help on the triangle display.

But on the brakes it's in reference to what is know as seating the pads. If you apply them very hard to may times at first they MIGHT glaze over as they cool. One or two times should not be a problem.
