Looking for a better fitting helmet today I stopped by my Can-Am dealer. Helmet was a no, but the wife and I really like the 2014 RTS. I do have some questions that I'm hoping can be answered by any onsite owners. I know the 2014's have not be "out there" for very long so some answers from earlier models may suffice.

1. What sort of actual MPG does the 2014 get?

2. What is the life/miles span on the tires? Front & rear.

3. Riding in the rain...I know we'll get wet but does it provide as much protection as most fairing bikes/trikes? Any leaks for the bags or trunks?

4. Simple maintenance:

How easy is it to change oil/filter, air filter, various lighting bulbs.

This is for future planning/decisions.

Thanks

I can say that I've had my Can Am problems, but I sure have enjoyed the bike and it really hugs the road. Hope this helps....

enjoy!!

We bought a 2014 Rt base model in April and have almost 9,000 miles on it. The mileage started out in the high 20's low 30's and after about 5K it jumped to around mid to high 30's without pulling our trailer and riding two up about 95% of the time. We have changed the front sway bar, added Web Board floor boards.Plus a few lights and some other farkles. The sway bar and upping the front tire pressure made a huge difference in the handling. We went on a 4200 mile camping vacation pulling a loaded trailer from Fl. to Canada and averaged 30+ mpg. My wife and I were ready to just repack the trailer and hit the road again. The RT is that comfortable. As far as maint. we bought a pre paid package that takes care of all the oil changes and repairs for the first three years.Well worth the the price.

The rear tire went 8200 miles before it got changed and the front tires look like they will go another 10K.

They have cured most of the complaints that the earlier Spyder riders complained of,heating up the right foot.

Poor fuel mileage too high rpm's on the highway.

The three cylinder 6 speed automatic is a great combo. We almost bought a leftover 13 at a good price.Glad we bought the 2014.
