Pulled the Trigger on a 2014 Tri Glide today

I had a 98 GL1500 didn't like the lite front end on it

Wife and I roade a new 18 Tri Glide last summer and I loved it

for the way I ride it was all the trike I wanted and stable as heck

but 40K OTD was a bit more than i wanted to spend at that moment...

FF to today, I had looked at several tri glides 2013 down to get a cheaper buy in, then this 2014 became available, real close to the 18 model except the M8 motor, I own a police 103 now and can easily live with it. So I'm a Tri Glide person now. I really believe this is the trike for me. How's she look, guys? (bra coming off back fenders)

Looking pretty good there, love the color, hope when you take off the fender bras they are not scratched up, some dealers recommend putting down a film before installing the bras, hope that works out for you, keep the bras, you may need them later on after rock chips and everything else beats up the fender even if it has film on it.

All for now Trampas

Nice one Tom. Your going to love it. Congrats.

PS: What the hell is that?......Green Grass. I live it Iowa, so we have brown grass at best.

recommend some kind of fender protection They chip up pretty fast. I used the fender film when I had the TRI and worked well.

Smart move on the fender bra. I've had 2) 2014 TG's and love them. I bought a roll of 3M plastic film ($59 for a 2' x 6' piece) and made my own templates. There are different thicknesses. I had 35K miles on my first TG with only a couple of medium size nicks in the film. When they get too bad, just peel off and reapply. Plus you get to see that beautiful paint job not some wrinkly faux leather.....JMHO

Congrats on your "new to you" Tri Glide. Wishing you many miles of smiles on it!!!

Bike is in Miami, I'm in S Central FL

Thx for tip on the fender covers, will update when I put a few miles on it

Question: Do these come with oil coolers, or do I need to get one if not??

They do not come with oil coolers, nor does HD make them. The water pump is in the traditional location of an oil cooler.

Unfortunately these Twin Cooled need an oil cooler even more than the air cooled...HD uses hotter cams and higher compression in the Twin Cooled. See more info on the subject HERE.

After I got my '14 Tri Glide we developed the Twin Cooled Oil Cooler. It does a great job at lowering oil and engine temps.

There is a thread on the forum here with pics, and info on the development and testing of these, along with other good info...

Wife and I own a 2014 also. So far have a little under 14000 miles and love it. Still ride two wheels when its only me but to tell the truth, three as fun. My wife absolutely loves the Triglide with its comfy back seat and arm rests. Just take it easy for a few hundred miles and get to know your machine. I just had no idea that three wheeling would be so much fun. Be safe out there and enjoy the ride, RevJ.

No one knows how enjoyable these can be unless they actually own one, do they

I lived thru the 80s ridin crazy and stupid (just lucky) Now all I want to do is cruise 65 or so and enjoy the ride and listen to some nice tunes, I feel blessed to have gotten into a nice Rushmore TG at a price I could afford and live with. guess I AM gettin old...LOL

75W90 or 75W140 in trans?

I am running Mobil 1 75W90 LS in my 2 wheel 103 with no problems, but I'm thinkin as hot as it gets here year round and the heavier trike maybe put some 75W140 in the trans of the tri glide?

Just wanted to see what grade you all ran and what to do? Thanks

Oil threads and related discussions are often viewed as a bone of contention. But, I'll wade in........:D

For my 5k service, I switched to Red Line V-Twin Transmission Oil w/Shockproof® sku-42804. Their White Paper says: "it's rated as a Heavy 75W250 Gear Oil, but has the lower internal fluid friction of an SAE 75W90". Chose to buy their Big Twin Power Pack Oil Package and filled all three holes with Red Line products.
