Poll: Are high gas prices making you drive your trike more, less or doesn't matter?

PFWiz - how are you? It's been sometime. And, how is your wife doing.

We are headed to Milwaukee on July 25th = Harley birthday bash. Taking the ferry from Muskegon. On the way back, we are headed around the UP - Escanabe, Alpena area.

Almost 16,000 on the trike now.
My wife and I are doing well, hopefully you and your beautiful wife are doing well also. Not riding quite as much as we would like to because we are getting work done on our home. Seriously starting to think about buying a new caddy...:p

Trust me, I understand about things around the house. We too have been busy.

Here is my Father's Day gift from her (lol)

By the way, if you do go for a new caddy, keep me in posted - I have some GM Executive discounts that might help a little.GARAGE.jpg

Went looking for a new caddy last year, rode and drove a buddies Lexus RX350, and ended up buying the Lexus. Way quieter and rides better too.

Glad to hear you like your Lexus.

I went looking for a GoldWing - sometime ago. Dealer would not let me ride it - kept saying that the battery wasn't charged. So, I rode the Harley Ultra and loved it. Been riding Harley's since. Harley dealer services my CSC - way better for me.

Then GWRRA went belly up - and they kept my money. Hummm, see folks are indeed different

Gas prices are not the issue here in Florida. HEAT and rain have slowed me down. The high 90’s with 90% humidity gives a heat index of 110. That’s before you add in the air cooled engine. “Ride early” is my summer motto.

Freewheeler, ride a lot, smile a lot. Don't think about the cost of gas because it's a necessity.
Didn't buy it to park it !!!! Just keep filling it, don't even check the mpg. I do use Duralt additive over 2 yrs now. Even started using in my truck. Several thousand miles. No need for Hi-Test.. regular & a small squirt of Duralt for a 5 gallon tank.

It's easier to put 5gals of High test and go two hundred miles than spend 4.00 a gallon for diesel and put 35 gals in for 400 miles. and we get more pleasure when we are out on the bike.

Kinda related but I think relevant...... Been on the road for 6 days now and finding my little Mustang gets better MPG with the top up than it does with it down. But, I didn't get a convertible to drive around top-up when the weather allows. So, top-down regardless of mileage. BTW..... Glad to be out of California, land of 5 & 6 dollar fuel for a regular gallon. Oregon has fuel for more than a buck less even when going to the full service pumps where an attendant will fill your tank. Price of fuel will not have any effect upon my travels. Stay safe..... Jim

Im with you. My Mustang is a "14" with 34K. 5.0 Coyote modified to 480 hp. Has to have 93 octane. With the top up 24 MPG if I stay out of it. Top down don't know, don't care. Just put her down and enjoy the ride. Don't need to worry about the price just go ride. Enjoy

Gas here in the Reno area is about $4.46 on average for mid grade. Fortunately, I'm retired and spend much less on gas than when I was commuting. I don't take trips anymore due to health reasons. I do, however, take a 100-150 mile ride once a week to get out of the house and away from you know who.

Specifically, paying almost $5 per gallon for premium gas in the Harley doesn't keep us off of the roads. But it does make us consider the length and duration of our longer summer trips on the bike.

High gas/diesel prices drive everything else up, including food and other services. A three week bike trip several years ago was a lot cheaper than what it is costing us today. We had been planning a multi-state 3 week run starting the first of September. Decided the other day to cut it down to just a 7 day run up to the mountains. Everything has just gotten too expensive.

In my area of Kalifornia, Premium is just under $5.00 But has no affect on my cycle riding. I do have a hot rod that gets 8 MPG that is not driven as much, and my Diesel truck only gets driven when it's actually needed. The recent heat wave of 115+ has limited my riding, but fortunately I'm retired, can get up early, and easily get in 100+ mile ride before it gets stupid hot. We are riding in the 3-Flags Classic Rally in 3 weeks, Canada to Mexico over Labor Day. Gas will be stupid expensive, but you can't stop living
