Hey guys I recently built a Sporty Trike and put a jockey shifter on it but I am not too comfortable with it so I am looking to get a pingel shifter so to those who have one or know anything thing about these are they reliable? Have you had any kind of issues with them? They are pretty pricey and I'm trying to make a wise investment on something that isn't gonna leave me stranded. Thanks in advance!

I don't have one so I have no knowledge but if you search the product name you should get some helpful results. We have had several previous posts on the subject.

Had one on the Goldwing and loved it. Bought it used and sent it to Pingle who returned good as new. Very reliable once adjusted correctly.

I have one on my Gen 1 'busa and really like it. They use a fair amount of power, so be aware of that if you are shifting one at or near idle. Gen 1's have a very weak electrical system. I got around the problems that created for the shifter by replacing the battery every year.

One other thing worth mentioning about Pingle electric shifters is how they turn on. When you first start the bike, you have to hold either button on the shifter down for 5 seconds to turn it on. If you forget, the only way to get it to come on is to kill the engine, restart it and then hold the button down. That particular feature is one I don't care for because if you take off and it's not turned on, you have to do all that rolling down the road. A simple switch would work a lot better for me personally.

Nice Busa Mont! You got 2 bikes and 2 trikes?

thanks! I pretty much hand built that 'busa to race on. Me and the bride each have a bike and trike. Neither of us can bear to part with our bikes and she has a Spyder and Victory. In fact, she's leaving on a ride with the girls to San Antonio this morning on the Spyder.
