Couldn't get it back on today after I filled up, had to push the trike off the island. I remembered the thread about the gas caps being substandard junk, and one post about filing the end of the cap and it would go back on so I grabbed the cap and used the curb to scrap the end and it went back in hard but at least it was tight. I would like to thank the poster who suggested that because I would still be at the gas station cussing at my trike, I hope the new caps are better than the junk Harley saw fit use in the first place!

I had the same issue with mine even after they put a new on on,so i filled mine and it has work like it is supposed to ever since.

HDBOB is the Stant 10834 the cap that you are using? I'm going to try and use it and see what happens. I went over to the Harley Davidson forum and from what I read, it's the ethanol in the gas making the cap swell. I went and took the gas cap out and left it out over night and low and behold it went in nice and easy when it dried out. This doesn't solve the problem it just shows a probable cause, as you know you can't keep a gas cap from getting wet with gas. The only other thing I can think of doing besides using the Stant cap is to keep a spare Harley Davidson cap with me all the time. This isn't something I really want to do, I guess I could keep it in a Tupperware container with some vent holes cut into it. Thank you Harley Davidson for the P.I.T.A factor in your design of the trike !

Just file the leading diameter down cleaning each time before you test fit it until it goes in easy no need to carry a spare.

Stuff like that happens... I had a Spyder, And BRP.. Had to replace thousands, Of them..
Mine was one of them....Believe me that should be the worst problem any one ever has...

BRP / Can-Am replaced mine when I had my 2011 Spyder RT-S. No problems whatsoever with my 2015 Tri-Glide cap.

Happened to our 2016 TG after about 2 months. Pulled into the nearest dealership and they replaced it on the spot under warranty. Out the door in 5-10 minutes and haven't had a problem with it since.

welcome with your first post please feel free to share more in the future. We all have a different point of view that may help someone.
