p 34 carb?

i just got started on a new project. vw trike . i was a vw tech in the air cooled day . i had the first vw trike in knoxville tn that i know about, along time ago. 1971. so i found a vw chopper & bought it for a song. but its got that dad blame p 34 carb on it & i can't make it do rite . i forgot the trick . it's a b case 1970 , but dual ports heads. back firing .

yes i already put all intake gasket on it . b case did't have dual port heads. anybody know where get vw parts now . been along time now. hate that p34 carb. well pics latter. this id my 14th vw.

thanks , just what i needed to know. forgot about the fast idle trick. don't know why ,it's only been 35 years. & yes my haynes book had it wrong . thanks again.
