Being that this week is 'Spring Break' at the school where I work and the weather being so nice (finally), I though this would be a perfect time to take my trike to work. (no kids around to mess with it)

Now in this part of VA, the cops really enforce the local speed limits so I'm always very attentive as to what speed I'm traveling at. So here I was, cruising along Route 15 at 55 mph. (Checking the speedo often). The next thing I know, I look down at the speedometer and I'm just past 65 mph and slowly increasing!! I swear that I didn't feel the increase nor was aware of twisting the throttle (at least not consciously, lol) :laugh: So of course, I let off the throttle and settled back down to 55 (yeah,,, I know,, boring) :cxtv:

It's as if the Wing just wanted to stretch her legs a bit more or finally got tired of my "Old Man" driving.

Any of you Wing owners experience the "Ghost-In-The-Machine" that just likes to make the Wing fly? Seems like these machines really do effortlessly take off.

Just my story for today, lol :laugh:

In a word .... YES! Going thru my small town on my way home from work and found myself speeding along WAY too fast for the street I was on. Slowed quickly and then went on about my business. I swear it was the trikes fault!!

Yep, Yesterday, Riding the Garden State Parkway on my T/G, Listening to Good night Saigon'
Before I knew it I was clipping 80mph in a 65 zone, And still was being passed buy half the cars on the road......

When I'm going thru an area where I know they will be watching our speed I use cruise control just to be sure It doesn't slip up on me.

Yep, the ol' VTX (when it was on two wheels), always wanted to go about 80 mph. Now three wheels has slowed 'er down a bit.

Our trike, the Harley and the Triumph all seem to suffer from creeping acceleration. The car doesn't do that, if anything it has gradual deceleration syndrome. :Shrug:

Maybe your problem is that your color is too fast.

I hate to differ with you. I have a Mini Cooper S that does that all the time. You would be driving down the highway with the speed limit of 55mph and you look down and you are doing 70+. The trike also does that. I think, the trike and Mini talk to each other and laugh to see who can so faster without being caught.
That's my story and I am sticking to it!

Maybe your problem is that your color is too fast.

Are you kidding?? I would've thought Red, Orange or maybe even Yellow. Maybe Silver and Gray are,,, "Stealthy" :laugh:

I know my Spyder likes to hit the freeway (75 mph) and creep up to 90 all of a sudden. Don't understand how that happens.

When I travel I use my cruise control in small towns because they are ready to take a bite out of your wallet.

My only problem with that is many of these towns have speed limits that are from 25 to 35 mph. I forget what the lowest speed is for the cruise. If I remember correctly, if the cruise control is set too low, it could damage the circuit or mechanism. Not sure if this still holds true.

I hope they did not get a grant for that speeding study. 80% of the cars on the road are some form of silver or beige. Some times I am the only car in Lowes lot that is Blue or if I takes the other car. red.

I use my cruise to control my speed as the wing likes to outrun my common sense to control the speed.
I use my cruise all the time in the car, truck, wing and on the Venture when I had it. I don't use it on the Road Star because it doesn't have one.
