Oil Pan bolts are only "finger" tight!

I have a 2010 Street Glide Trike and noticed a few drops of oil on the ground. I checked the oil pan bolts and all of them were loose. I tightened them but still have an oil leak but not as severe. I've purchased an oil pan gasket and intend to put it on tonight, is there any "surprises" I have to look for?
I read somewhere about some baffle springs(????) I don't see anything in the illustration. The only manual I have is for a 2009 Street Glide.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

while you are at it check the side transmission cover bolts..Mine were leaking there too along with the oil pan bolts..
never had to replace the pan gasket..just tightened up the bolts and the leak stopped.

one last thing the stator plug will decide to leak at some point and time too..

Sorry..

:Agree: Not a matter of if, just a matter of when, go figure. The stator on my 06 never leaked a drop in the 6 years it was installed, built the new engine and installed a new stator. The one in the 2010 Triglide I had started leaking when the trike was just a touch over 2 years old, the one on my dads 09 has a small leak right now.

I had the same issue with the oil pan bolts and the transmission cover bolts on my 2011 SG trike. I found the loose transmission cover bolts because of the burning transmission fluid smell. I took it to the dealership and had them tighten them (I have no lift or space for one) and they haven't leaked since. However, every time I take it in for service I ask them to check the torque on them. The way my XXX vibrates I'm surprised I haven't had other issues with loose bolts and fittings (knock on wood:)).

By the way, check your lug nuts periodically to make sure a tire doesn't come off (happened to a few folks).
