Odometer on 2015 Freewheeler sticks/hangs-up

Hi, I have a 2015 Freewheeler I purchased Dec. 2014. No big problems or even slight problems but one annoying problem. I have had it to the dealership 4 times and four different so call fixes. Here is the problem. When the temp in over 80 degrees and the bike is hot or warmed up my odometer hangs up and is erratic between 40 and 110 mph. Come to a stop and the needle sits at 100mph. I had to remember what the rpm was to gauge my speed. First time they cleaned the sensor. no good, second time replaced, no good.

third time the odometer assembly. Since they done this in Dec. last year I had no more problems until a few weeks ago when the temp was over 80 and it hung up. Now, the way I fix it is that I turn the bike off, wait a few mins. and turn the switch to accy. position and the needle comes back to zero. Start the bike and drive off and get above fifty and there you go, over 80 and hung up. Harley people are baffle and headquarters say they never had seen this before. Anyone out there got any ideas? Would love to hear some.

Thanks

I had the same problem

I had the same problem with my 2015. When I took it into the Dealer they replaced the whole speedometer unit under warranty without question and no more problems since then. That was back in March and here in Southeast Texas it is humid and hot. I've got about 8000 miles on it.

My started about 6000miles on it and they replaced the whole speed ometer also. Now the problem is back. Bike is in the shop but of course under warranty but doing me no good right now. I was going to get it and ride this week-end but rain is coming this afternoon till thru Sunday so I will leave it there for them. I really think it is in the wiring harness somewhere.
