Observations After Riding for a Month

My bike was delivered before Christmas, so I've had it for just about a month.

I really like the stability. I have not been tempted to put my feet down, which was one of my concerns going in.

It's a little strange to worry that I'm a lot wider behind than it looks like out front.

Steering without a rake kit was really hard at first, but now it seems easier. Maybe I'm just getting used to it. Still, once I can get some of my parts sold, I'll get the kit.

My wife loves to ride with me. It's a lot easier for her to get on and off the trike than it was with the bike. And, of course, she doesn't have to worry about tipping me over.

I miss leaning thru turns. There is a kind of flow to that process that you don't have on a trike.

All in all, it's great to have a trike and both for my wife and me, the gains greatly outweigh any losses.

Great report, Dan!!! Sounds as though you are doing great with it. One comment about the rake kit --- yes, you absolutely can ride "fine" without one, but the steering will be markedly easier with one. In fact, I think you will miss the leaning/countersteering much less if you have the rake because the effort of steering is so much more enjoyable. Something to look forward to, and meanwhile you are getting your shoulders into shape .

I have put 6,000 miles on our trike now and it is getting more enjoyable to ride than it did at first. My wife has only rode 150 miles on it but she is looking forward to more rides when it gets warmer. So here we go!

Leaning in the curves is the thing I miss most about two wheels versus three wheels. The good news is I can take off the Voyager kit and two wheel it when the desire hits me.

Missing the leaning is the ONLY thing I miss. The benefits of 3 wheels way overshadows the one thing I miss, and I don't miss it that much.

Glad you are getting the hang of life on 3 wheels. It's great.
I thought I may miss leaning over in the twisties but I found a fun alternative .
Going home from work one day I was feeling particularly enthusiastic, in the bends I found I could slide the rear out. Not daily practice but fun on occasion.
