Now we start over

Progress on refurbishing the sidecar. Hannigan called yesterday to verify the VIN number on the bike. Part of matching the zephyr blue,Black Sunglo and the accent striping paint. Painter also ask for more pictures on the graphics on the bike. I am sure he is working on how best to make the sidecar look like it belongs on the bike .

I did not bother with question. The painter is a pro, I will let him do his thing. He did a great job the last time.

The reverse is installed. Put my bags back on and it is ready for the ride to Hannigan the 14th. No I did not park it like that the site does strange things with pictures.

It should be clear to most . I take riding serious. Be it sidecars or two wheels. The sidecars are a special passion because of the world they open up for Payton. The Gold one was not her first. Totaling the Gold 2017 was a sad day. Everyone in this family and many out side it enjoyed that Rig. Sitting here now going over details of the new Rig. questioning any last minute changes , have I made the right call on things. Any details left out. Time is near 3 calls this week form Hannigan I know it it almost time. I had setup time to have the Gold one cleaned up , painted ect before the crash. Hannigan was able to work getting the new Rig done between other work. We have only had a 1 week delay.

The color and mating of the bike and sidecar fit well with the Gold one. I think the New Nighfury dragon will top that. Even when you know what your are getting into it is a journey .

Because the bike is a 2020 the New systems they put on them make mounting a sidecar a bigger project. many things to work around. We shall over come. 8 days out the drive way to Hannigan.

Today frame and bike were joined. The front upper mounts was improved and the upper rear got a little rework. Brake line was cut in ready for the quick connect.

Looks like tomorrow we get it on the road.

Just can't leave it alone. Payton saw the mean mug and we just had to do it. When I look at the Mean Mug I know I have seen them eyes before. I figured it out.

Been a busy time so only 8,000 miles on the new rig. All is good so far. Tire wear has been great.

I have decided to put a car Tire on the bike rear as I had before. Big problem is the 2020 has 18 wheels front and rear and no car tire will work. Answer is switching to 16 wheel in the rear and a 195/65R16 height comes out to be with in 2/10's of an inch. The RDRS and ABS are constantly comparing front and rear wheel speed so mismatch sizes would cause issues.

I will know August 5th how it works. new 16 inch wheel has tire mounted and ready to go.

Good news is the RDRS system has work flawlessly . With no changes to the the ECM or BCM. The twin classic is a larger car so that may help but it it has has had no issues with Tip or BAS. We have pushed it hard to test it.

Next planned get away is Sept. To Clarksville TN Area to ride with some friends.

Just some information for those with 18 wheels and 180/55B18 tires that want to go to a car tire in the rear.

2020 RGL with sidecar want Car tire on bike rear. Problem 2020 has 18 inch wheels and no car tire would work

Solution Change to 16 inch wheel. Issues RDRS and ABS comparing front and rear tire speed.

How it was done. Purchased a new 16 inch wheel. Installed RDRS and ABS bearing and new rotor. Installed a TPMS unit..

Found that a 195/65R16 was as close to prefect match as it gets. Mounted and installed.

Centurion Technoreseach unit program new TPMS to bike.

Fit of the wheel and tire is prefect.

New Rig has 11,000 miles on it now the sidecar was mounted at 490 miles. Doing what it should so far. I am not so sure it runs much quicker with the 114 vs the 107.

The 2020 Road Glide limited has all power need to tug the sidecar any where, we have proven that. I have a set of slip on mufflers that are not loud but have some nice tone to them.

S&S stealth AC in the box wait. I also already had all the parts for a Stage 2 CAM job. Order the new cam The second Decide time to bump it up.

The Woods 22X produce more torque from the start and really kicks in a 2,000-2,500 RPMs and keeps going long after red line. It also produce a nice HP increase. It will go in the winter with a Power vision tune.

Cams like the woods 22X require no head work. Just about all of the aftermarket Cams leave the substandard Screaming Eagle parts in the dust .

S&S 475 cam was high on my list. But the Woods 22x provide better torque where I use it.

So:

S&S Lifters

S&S adjustable push rods

S&S steel Lifter cuffs (guides) Replaces HD plastic ones

S&S cam bearing

Woods 22X CAM

S&S Stealth Air cleaner

Fuel Moto 4" jack Pot mufflers

Power vision Tune.

I want to use a Fuel Moto 2-1-2 Jack pot header but need to make sure it will clear the Reverse cover
