New Trike Mileage

I get 33 - 35 mpg on my 2012 Gl1800CSC! Must confess to being a little heavy on the throttle!

Your mileage is about what I get when pulling my trailer.
I get about 32 with two up without a trailer.
Headwinds will really knock the mileage down too. A lot!
High speeds will too.
I have a 2012 Wing CSC Viper.

I have had 2 Goldwings that were triked. On my 2004 with a CSC kit that I had installed in 2012 I got 35-37. I now ride a 2012 with a new Hannigan kit. I get 35-37. Worst day I ever had was riding against a good breeze in the Spring at 65 MPH and only got 33 1/2 for the tank. If it is any help, my new Hannigan loaded down with stuff and a full tank weighs in at 1310 lbs.

Road Smith trike here, 2005 with 2012 conversion, was getting 41 mpg on two wheels, dropped to 35/36 mpg after the conversion. 28 sounds a bit low, mpg is gonna drop, depends on different circumstances how much. Some installers say about 10%, but that's variable as well.

Don't feel to bad best Ive done is 32. My average is 29 mpg.
Who buys a big bike like this with the added 5-600 lbs, plus riders should expect to much going into it.
Super light of throttle I might squeeze 32 mpg. Which means no fun for me.
Normal running 75mph + less then 30 a lot less.

I have a F6B Motor Trike Raptor.....2,500 miles and the best I have seen is about 32 MPG.

'06 with '11 Roadsmith. Running twisties and normal club rides I consistently avg. 37 riding two up. If I load up, add trailer, and ride Interstate at speeds above 3200 rpm the mileage will drop to 32-34 mpg.

At first I was getting 30-32

It should improve after getting some miles on the kit.

2010 GL1800 with MT. Best on casual riding, just over 32. With the trailer I'm doing good to get 30. Wind does make a difference.

Thanks everyone, I think it will get better. I rode today and kept it under 3000 rpm. I think the mileage will be better. Have only had it 9 days and it does feel like it needs another gear to me.. 60mph is about it without going over 3000 rpm.

3000 rpm @ 60 mph? I see 3100 rpm @ 70 mph. My speedometer is corect with GPS to verify. Before the trike install the speedo was 5 mph faster than actual speed. Must be the difference in differential gearing with your kit vs. stock gearing. Mine is a mototrike adventure. Around 165 miles I start to look for fuel.
180 miles is my max.
Anything over that Im in the red and might literally end up pushing it to the nearest pump.

No Sorry, 60mph, I am just over 2500 RPM. Just trying to keep it under 3000 RPM. Got 30mpg this last tank keeping them down.

34 to 36. DFT 1997 Goldwing. ( 300 fewer cc may make a difference.) Weight of passengers, how hard you twist your right wrist, jack rabbit starts, and of course terrain. I stay off highways 90% of the time. Back roads at 45 to55 mph . Total pass weight 285. Get 36 mpg when I am 175 lb alone, 34 with co rider. DFT uses the original rear end of the Goldwing. Yes my Honda Accord Coupe gets 37 to 38 on the high way...BTW. do not use high test gas. Gold wing runs better and gets better MPG on Reg.

With my trike at 180 miles I have used approximately 6 gallons.
Im not aware of the max usable fuel in my bikes tank.
When I 1st got it.
I rode around with a gallon of gas in the trunk.
I never got much past 200 miles before it ran dry.
I ran it dry safely 2 times and came up with the figure of 180 miles being my max then look for fuel.
As I have never taken a real highway ride yet in 2 years and don't plan on one any time soon.
30 mpg is my number.
I even asked Honda if this is in the correct rage for a GoldWing and was told more or less yes as there is nothing to adjust with the FI unit. Other then my wrist. My bikes just one of the fuel hogs in the 28-30 range for mpg.

After what I call brake in period. I will strap a gallon fuel container and run it dry. This will give you a idea of what to expect and know when it needs to be filled.
I have been doing this for years, it really helps to have a piece of mind. Both tanks around 300 before fill up.

When I had my GL1500 triked I went from 40 mpg to 32 mpg on the highway and 37 mpg in the city. Apparently the bike has more resistence to the wind at highwat speeds.

2013 Goldwing with Motor Trike Razor. 1 up I get about 35 mpg (I have a "light" hand on the throttle). 2 up fully loaded I get about 32 -33. Wind makes a huge difference. With a good wind behind me I get about 40mpg at 65mph on the highway!

Where I live here in Southern Ohio I have two gravel pits and a farmer neighbor who have scales that let me weigh for free. Generally any big landscaping company or trucking company will have scales, ( or at least they better have lol), and some charge if you need a weight slip, which, of course, I didn't.
