new to trike world

Getting my first trike,epper: 2003 Honda Goldwing with Champion kit. I know its going to be a learning experience. I have been riding 2 wheels for several years. I have a 1999 Honda Valkyrie Std. But having back and leg issues so when the wife rides wanting more wheels on the ground. Any tips to start out with from anyone?:xzqxz: Also I have been reading about the rack issue on trikes. I asked the owner if he knew if it had a rack kit installed. He did not know.:cxtv: What can I look for to see if it has a rack kit. Thanks.

I think you mean a RAKE kit...
look at the distance between the front wheel and the front lower cowl... if that distance seems wide greater than a untriked gl, then you have raked bike.
I would be that it is raked as most installers / new owners seem to think they need one.

Welcome.I think if you the tree(part the handlebars are attached to) the stock will be black the raked will be shiney unless someone painted them.

Welcome to Trike Talk and just take the trike to a empty parking lot and take a hour or so just getting use to how the trike turns. It shouldn't take you very long and you will become a real triker. Oh by the way, make sure you give yourself plenty of room when you pull up to the gas pump:AGGHH:.

I know it is not going to actually tip over but that sensation is there and I want to lean way over to the left to try and balance off the trike.

there is nothing wrong with leaning your body in the turn. It will make the feeling less of a issue.

Then go ahead and lean into the turn...
as an extra try steppig om the LEFT footpeg. It will make the trike sit up straighter in the turns
LEft peg / Left turn, Right turn/ right footpeg
